@caprastro @chargedcurrent @aussiastronomer I just bought a cheap GE fridge, no ice maker, no water dispenser, top freezer, no frills whatsoever, but energy star efficient, and it's super quiet and I expect it to last 20+ years, just like the 20+ year-old one we replaced. We have a countertop ice maker and drink tap water.

@scorfano If the programs are within the last few years, it is possible the PI may have a graduate student working on the data as part of their thesis work. It can at least be a good idea to give a heads up to the PI and check in about the status of their work/program.

@dalcantonJD @rareflwr41 @massimastro @eteq What do you mean “was?” It still is :) My most cherished possession is my 2015 laptop running IRAF on MacOSX 10.11. IRAF still has the best data reduction and analysis tools for optical spectra. No contest.
