@Pat_Stedman It's actually more the result of an aging population. Healthcare jobs are exploding in both number and income, and they are all going to women.
We can't fix it until we end medicare.
Sir, asylums ran by patients do not count as serious economics departments. When I say that it is nowhere to be found, I mean nowhere important:
-Not in top five journals
-Not in top field journals
-Not in the research portfolio of any of the top departments
-Not in the policy work done by economists at western central banks, statistical agencies, the IMF, the BIS, or the World Bank
-Not in the work of economists in the private sector
Take your healing crystals and go find other people who are sufficiently gullible to buy them.
Taxonomy is continuously updated with modern genetic and paleontological data, “race” is pretty much locked into what a bunch of freaks in Europe cooked up in the 17th century. Modern science continuously and reliably indicates it has zero in biological or medical reality.
@Alonso_GD Yeah, let's just not have ANY categories. Let's ignore the human propensity to categorize things, and just throw everything into a blender and have no distinction between anything. Sounds like a great way to organize society. Imbecile.
Actually no, the Roman Empire was undone by two types of malaria, vivax and falciparum that made the Romans chronically ill and growth stunted, followed by a third hit from the Antonine plague (most likely smallpox) 166-180 CE introduced by returning Roman armies from Seleucia (Mesopotamia). Two additional plagues didn’t help. Bottom line it was failure to control pandemic threats, which undid the Roman Empire, and now we’re making the identical mistake.
