Dear Sane Americans,

As we get closer to the 250th birthday of the greatest experiment in human liberty the world has ever seen, I’ve noticed something truly hilarious online. A certain subset of our fellow citizens, bless their fragile little hearts...has announced, with all the solemnity of a Victorian widow, that they will be boycotting America’s birthday party. Why? Because Donald Trump exists and breathes air. Apparently the country that survived actual wars, depressions, pandemics, and every flavor of political idiot for two and a half centuries suddenly becomes irredeemable the moment their preferred candidate loses. How noble. How principled. How utterly predictable.

These are the same people who spent four years telling us that “democracy dies in darkness” while simultaneously claiming half the country was a basket of deplorables. Now they’re ready to spit on the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and every firework, hot dog, and bald eagle because....gasp, the wrong guy might be in the White House again. The Republic that outlasted King George, Hitler, and the Soviet Union can’t possibly survive another Trump term, so better to sit in the corner pouting than join the rest of us in remembering we’re still the last, best hope on Earth.

Well, here’s the good news, you delicate patriots-in-name-only: We don’t care if you celebrate or not. Really. Take your ball and go home. Spend the day doom-scrolling, stress-eating kale, and writing angry threads about how the country is “literally over.” We’ll be too busy grilling, laughing, and reminding ourselves that America was built by people with actual spines, not by fragile narcissists who treat politics like a high-school breakup. We wouldn’t expect less from you dolts.

The rest of us, sane Americans of every party, background, and region, will be celebrating anyway. Because this isn’t about one election or one man. It’s about 250 years of imperfect, rowdy, magnificent self-government. It’s about the radical idea that free people can govern themselves without asking permission from coastal elites, Twitter blue-checks, or anyone else who thinks they’re smarter than the Constitution. So go ahead. Sit this one out. History will barely notice your absence, and the fireworks will be just as loud!! Happy 250th, America! See you at the party! This outrage over the Men’s USA Hockey team is incredibly stupid, but it’s important we recognize it for what it is.

It’s proof that the Left have politicized EVERYTHING.

They injected their politics into every element of our society. They infected movies, TV, sports, music, art, video games, news, academia, social media, the corporate world, essentially every piece of media we consume, etc.

They made it so being openly political about Left-wing narratives is accepted and encouraged, but if you show anything but vile hatred towards Trump and America, they will unleash their media apparatus and seek to destroy you.

This is why the Left are so upset about the Men’s Hockey team, because they DESPERATELY do not want the public or other athletes to see that it’s okay to be friendly towards Trump, or to show any level of patriotism. They did the same thing when Saquon Barkley took a ride with Trump on Marine One, or whenever any team visits Trump at the White House.

Why? Because they don’t want other people to think it’s okay to start showing their support for Trump. It’s all part of their desire to control public perception. They have weaponized everything to serve their nefarious agenda.

So when people get mad about the politicization of sports, there is only one side to blame. The Left have gotten completely out of control, and we can no longer sit back and passively ignore this insanity. We must confront it, or they will consume us all.

Americans don’t understand just how special they are, how much light the American revolution brought into the world, and how much all the great competing revolutions of the past 300 years have been a darkness and a blight on the world that has only ever been pushed back by America’s example or American power.

The communists and Islamists and others never liberated a single soul or brought anyone out of destitution into prosperity or helped anyone turn democratic. Only America, with all its faults and fissures and self-doubt, ever did that.

I was asked several times over the past day what I thought of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. I didn’t answer because I was confused by my own reaction, by how deeply and powerfully it affected me.

I thought at first it was because he supported Israel’s existence at a time of normalized bigotry, and that’s probably part of it. But I couldn’t imagine feeling quite this strongly for most other defenders of my people’s right to exist. This went deeper.

Maybe I was sympathizing with the prevailing mood among American conservative friends over the past 24 hours. Maybe. But it felt deeper still.

It felt personal.

Which is strange, because I have no strong views or meaningful knowledge of most of the issues and culture wars Charlie took part in. America’s great debates on gun control, abortion, gender or healthcare are all mostly foreign to me. Yet I felt like I personally lost something in Charlie’s death.

And then it hit me.

Steven Pinker and many others have made this point a million times before, this essential point about America, about the American-led world, and, despite America’s obsessively discussed failings and imperfections, how infinitely better this world is than the world before America.

And Charlie, who hailed from a generation almost defined by its loss of faith in the West, became a kind of engine of renewed faith in Americanness - in the America that any Jew who knows their history can’t help but love.

My people, my own children, could live and thrive in the world Charlie believed in, the world America made, sometimes with its power but mostly by its example.

Charlie was a political pugilist. People may disagree bitterly with him on a dozen issues I scarcely understand. I can only comment on this one small thing - this very big, defining thing - that I know something about.

Charlie believed in the good that America brought to the world, believed it was still America’s fundamental story, and carried that gospel into the American culture wars with the earnestness of the evangelists of old.

May his death, like his life, raise a generation of new believers in that American promise. It isn’t fashionable to say it nowadays, but the truth isn’t always fashionable: The future happiness of humanity still, despite everything, depends on it.

There is an ideology that has steadily been growing in this country which hates everything that is good, righteous and beautiful and celebrates everything that is warped, twisted and depraved. It is an ideology at war with family and nature. It is envious, malicious, and soulless. We see the workings of this ideology in every posting online cheering the evil assassination that cruelly robbed this nation of one of its greatest men. Postings from those in positions of institutional authority — educators, healthcare workers, therapists, government employees — reveling in the vile and the sinister with the most chilling glee.

The fate of millions depends upon the defeat of this wicked ideology. The fate of our children, our society, our civilization hinges on it.

Now we devote ourselves, with love and unyielding determination, to finishing the indispensable work to which Charlie bravely devoted his life and gave his last measure of devotion.

This might be one of the most ignorant, anti-western statements ever made by a U.S. Senator, making a moral equivocation between the American founding and the Iranian terrorist regime.

His claim is that rights do not come from our Creator, but from government. That is the same line of reasoning that all tyrannical dictatorships have used. If rights come from government, then that means your rights can be dictated by other men’s desire for power. The genius of our founders was to turn that notion on its head and establish that our rights are indeed *inalienable*, endowed by our Creator, and therefore untouchable by the whims of men. The role of government is simple: protect those natural rights, not create them.

Ma’am, it is long past time to be honest with the American people. On January 3, I requested National Guard assistance, but your Sergeant at Arms denied it. Under federal law (2 U.S.C. §1970), I was prohibited from calling them in without specific approval. That same day, Carol Corbin at the Pentagon offered National Guard support, but I was forced to decline because I lacked the legal authority.

On January 6, while the Capitol was under attack and despite my repeated calls, your Sergeant at Arms again denied my urgent requests for over 70 agonizing minutes, “running it up the chain” for your approval.

When I needed assistance, it was denied. Yet when it suited you, you ordered fencing topped with concertina wire and surrounded the Capitol with thousands of armed National Guard troops.

I know some people are so broken they will never be able to muster a compliment for Trump, but the level of misdirection and coordination with Israel on this Iran attack was brilliant. Trump used his public platforms to lull Iran into complacency while privately coordinating with Israel. Trump and Netanyahu went so far as to meet privately this week to finalize things while publicly both leaking that Trump was urging restraint.

The problem here for the press corps is that so many of them hate Trump so much, they cannot nuance the cleverness of this. They must either approach it as Trump is a failure who even Israel does not respect or Trump is a liar who lied to everyone to get Iran.

The reality is everyone honest knows Iran has always been the liar, claiming it had no nuclear ambitions even as it plotted a bomb. The Obama/Biden policies helped Iran, which embedded agents within the Biden Administration. And Trump has turned the tables on it all, including probably taking advantage of Iran's embedded agents to amplify his misdirection.

And now Iran has been set back significantly and the world is safer today.

But scream about Orange Man Bad if you must. The press corps that does not deal with the truth of what happened is just going to further discredit itself. They couldn't detect Biden's decline and cannot accept Trump's calculated misdirection.
