This has quietly been a miracle month in medicine.

In the last 5 weeks we’ve got news on:

- retatrutide, the triple agonist GLP-1 from Lilly, basically melting fat and body-wide inflammation at record levels
- RevMed’s new pancreatic cancer drug showing unprecedented abilities to extend life
- small trial of a one-and-done PCSK9 gene editing therapy for slashing LDL cholesterol
- Mayo’s AI-assisted radiology showing vastly improved cancer detection
- this new therapy for metastatic solid tumors

This stuff is at varying levels of evidence. Retatrutide is ~100% on its way, other stuff needs more clinical trial data. But put it together and we’re maybe on the verge of majorly reducing the mortality of heart disease and cancer, the two leading causes of death in America.

It will indeed be a huge setback if perandur airport does not get pushed through. Perandur is the result of a decade long search for a second chennai airport.

If this is indeed the final stand of the Tamil Nadu government, it is a very disappointing decision. I doubt there is any suitable 5,000 acre parcel near Chennai that doesn’t involve water bodies or farmlands.

As I’ve said before, large infrastructure projects must be evaluated by weighing the larger public good against environmental damage. When the benefits are maximum and the damage is minimal, they are worth pursuing.

Every major decision involves balancing development and environment. Focusing solely on the environment halts all progress. Obsessing only about development makes the environment unlivable.

No mincing words. This decision is a significant setback for the development of both Chennai and Tamil Nadu.

We now need to see how the government plans to deliver a world class airport for Chennai in a timely manner.

• Bhagavata Purana 11.17.49: “Vaishyas follow Brahmins; Shudras accept a master from higher orders for livelihood.”

• Manusmriti IX (general): Women have “love of bed, seat, ornament, impure desires, wrath, dishonesty, malice & bad conduct.”

• Manusmriti 5.148: “Women should never be independent – protected by father (childhood), husband (youth), son (old age).”

• Rigveda 8.33.17: “The mind of woman cannot be disciplined; she has very little intelligence.”

• Valmiki Ramayana (Aranya Kanda 45.29-30): “Women by nature are crooked, fickle, devoid of religious knowledge.”

• Sati (widow immolation): Not in early Vedas but later law-books glorified it as dharma/loyalty (banned 1829).

• Child marriage & dowry: Influenced by Smriti customs & patriarchal controls (Manusmriti has mixed but reinforcing views).

The divisive elements codified in Sanatana texts have separated & oppressed people for centuries.

I thought of giving a final closure to my fellow followers. After a long run, I'll be archiving this page.

Loss is really personal..failed to convince people thats the hard truth. People simply wanted change. No GDP figures, no data points, it was largely driven not wanting to give majority to DMK. Not everyone, of course, but a significant number seem to carry that aversion.

For many, it comes down to perception, local dissatisfaction with ministers,caste polarization, family politics and at times a feeling that issues weren't handled properly enough. I dont think any amount of data on economic growth, reduced crime or improvements in healthcare and education would have changed their perception.

I've had a lovely 4yrs of sharing ❤️ Seeing visible growth in many sectors is what makes this loss even more emotional for me. Number of structural policy changes 🚶😭

Seeing Thalaivar, PTR, TRB, Anbil go down really hurts. This page was largely inspired by PTR. As someone with no direct affiliation with party, TRB Rajaa was responsive to feedback even with his demanding work. Thanks na 🙏

I personally know how rigid the system was in 2021 and how it has transformed especially in industries, transportation, education, finance and healthcare. At the same time, some areas remained difficult and needed serious attention (DIPR, Water Resources Dept, Recruitment, Police and a few more)

TN Govt system is robust and will likely continue on autopilot for some time, but it ultimately depends on who runs it. We've seen how things went haywire after JJ passed away. Only time will tell 😔
Hope, new govt takes in the industrial policy as it is and doesn't lose the momentum 🚶

மக்களுக்குச் செய்து கொடுத்த நலத்திட்டங்கள் தொடருவதற்கு வாக்கு கேட்டு நாங்கள் பரப்புரை செய்தோம்.

திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழகத்தின் தலைமையிலான மதச்சார்பற்ற முற்போக்குக் கூட்டணியை ஆதரித்து வாக்களித்த தமிழ்நாட்டு மக்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நான் எனது மனமார்ந்த நன்றியைத் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.

வாக்களித்தவர்களுக்கு மட்டுமல்ல, வாக்களிக்க மறந்தவர்களுக்கும் சேர்த்தே ஆட்சி நடத்தினேன்.

அனைத்து மக்களுக்கும் உண்மையாக இருந்தேன். நான் எனது மனச்சாட்சிப்படியே செயல்பட்டேன்.

प्रियांशु अपने पिता के साथ कानपुर कोर्ट में वकालत की प्रैक्टिस करते थे. उसी कोर्ट की पांचवीं मंजिल से छलांग लगा दी.

प्रियांशु की उम्र 24 साल थी, लेकिन दुख पहाड़ सा. प्रियांशु ने लिखा- छह साल की उम्र में चुपके से फ्रिज में रखा मैंगोशेक पी लिया, इसपर पापा ने नंगा कर घर से बाहर निकाल दिया. वो बात जेहन में घर कर गई.

• पापा मुझे नामर्द, हिजड़ा, अपंग, विकलांग और तरह-तरह के अपशब्द बोलते हैं
• बात-बात पर घर से निकाल देने, काम से निकाल देने की धमकी देते हैं
• मोहल्ले के सामने प्रियांशु को बेइज्जत किया जाता

सुसाइड करने से पहले भी यही हुआ. किसी बात पर सबसे सामने उसे डांट लगाई गई.

प्रियांशु का सब्र जवाब दे गया, कुछ समझ ना आया और जान देना ही एक रास्ता दिखा.
