So much of the Christian life can be boiled down to two simple truths.
1. You are no longer your own. You belong to Christ.
2. You are no longer 𝘰𝘯 your own. He gave you the church.
I spoke w/ several believers in the Middle East today.
The most frequent prayer request:
“Pray that we would be able to gather as a church this Sunday.”
They don’t see church as optional. They treasure being under God’s Word together.
Pray for peace and gospel opportunity.
Here's to another year learning to put my hope in Christ alone.
Because misplaced hope is so devastating. But when he said his love endures forever, it means it'll remain all through 2026 too.
“Do you feel the world is broken?
We do.
Do you feel the shadows deepen?
We do.
But do you know that all the dark won't stop the light from getting through?
We do.
Do you wish that you could see it all made new?
We do.”
Today is a good day to love God and love your neighbor.
It feels harder these days. But maybe this is when God's love digs in, and we feel its strength.
There is great hope in knowing God is not calling us to bigger, better or extraordinary. He wants to take the small, hidden, little & seemingly unimportant things in our lives & inject them with eternal glory. We can rest in our commonness, our ordinariness, and our smallness.
Pray for your pastor today. In a conflict this week, someone might have questioned his calling and today the enemy is using that as a way to discourage him as he prepares to minister tomorrow.
