@BerlieDoherty we are really enjoying reading your novel, Street Child in Year 5 @WhsYear5 . Today we wrote you a letter to say how you have inspired us all in our story writing.
Sports Day will be taking place on Thursday for Year 5. Please can we ask that children come to school in their p.e. kits with a bottle of water and a hat if it's going to be sunny?
All children and their parents or carers should be able to enjoy reading togther. We have a selection of picture books with giant print and #braille - ask in your local library for more information. https://t.co/vmzGS7mpB0 #HiVIS2021#ReadingSight#BooksForAll
Tomorrow is going to be very hot and with lots of the children spending time on the field playing cricket, please remember to apply cream before school, bring a hat and provide lots of water.
@bexthainy I am so sorry. It may be that your child's class teacher hasn't yet uploaded it. Maybe give it until the end of the weekend and then contact the class teacher/office to check.
The Year 5 team were pleased to see the children looking so refreshed and eager to learn today. This half term, we are looking for to an external cricket coach, singing sessions with The Voices Foundation and more trombone /trumpet sessions with Nigel.
What a busy week it has been! The children have enjoyed reading The Tales From Outer Surburbia in SQUIRT, practised using a protractor to measure and draw angles and wrote some amazing balanced arguments in English. Have a wonderful half term everyone!
This week, Year 5 have been consolidating their understanding of fractions and writing an explanation text for the character of Eric in The Tales of Outer Surburbia. Have a great weekend everyone.
