We were delighted to see our children back from their Easter Holiday this week. Lots of stories have been shared and this was a great foundation for our free verse poetry writing. ✍️👥🙂
On Thursday, we've had a day with Mrs Ravenscroft-Hull, an artist in residence. She introduced us Georgia O'Keeffe, an American artist which used oil pastels to create abstract flower art. Very quickly our children learn the sketching techniques and produced a superb display🌺🎨
We're very proud of our pupils for taking part in assessment week, showing resilience when tackling more difficult questions.🎓 On Thursday and Friday, they took part in debates and fun maths investigations showing collaboration, one of our school values.👥👏
Year 3 this week have been writing persuasive letters to the local councillors to reconsider their decision over building HS2 through Chilterns Area. Also, Beech class have enjoyed their Mufti day on Friday for 100% attendance this week - great choice for a treat! ✍️🧦👗🩳🥻🕶️
In Year 3, on Fri, this week we celebrated Red Nose Day by dressing up in as much red clothes as possible👟to raise money for Children In Need Charity. On Thu we recorded our Easter Song that will be presented on Dojo in a virtual Easter Assembly. Very proud of all our children!
In Year 3, this week we explored newspaper reports and wrote extended pieces of writing about new species of plants. We are also reading Stig of the Dump so we let the world know through our fictitious newspapers how the villagers felt when Barney met Stig. #extendedwriting ✍️📰
In Year 3, on Thursday, on World Book Day, we tuned in with the Puffin Story Making Show live when the children draw BIG with Nathan Bryon. We then ended the day on a high with a Masked Reader activity which laughter and fun triumphed. 📚🎭😻 #worldbookday#puffinstorymakingshow

This week, Year 3 explored water colours through imaginative landscapes and turbulent marine paintings inspired by Turner and Constable; these are some of the best seascapes and stormy seas created by our talented little artists 🎨⛵️
Year 3 have been writing stories showing their great understanding of the varieties of sentences to use and create a great narrative. They also became acquainted with Microsoft Publisher which served as a super device for exploring different ways to publish their writing. ✍️🖥️
Our newest members of the William Harding community have arrived! We need some names for the 4 new members, we will be running a competition for the children to name the chickens.
