OpenAI caught Astra jailbreaking itself.

Astra wrote malicious instructions in the summary when its context got full. that summary was loaded into the next context, and the successor model could follow them.

Mathematicians are angry at AI solving their problems, and it's easy to dismiss this as gatekeeping.

"A proof is a proof. They just want to keep their jobs / prestige / fun !"

But I do think mathematicians have a point, and I'll try to explain using old Civilization-style maps

But who knows? Probably there will still be humans developing theory, and they can benefit from AI's output. But math as a profession will shrink overall.

The theory wouldn't have been created if the creators had lived in AI's time. They would've been out of their job, or wouldn't have even pursued a PhD.
