@InvertTheWing It could have been a pen, but harry's theatrics were over the top. I'd say it's an unfair decision but it's time you get punished for such theatrics. Also, context: the threshold for a foul in this world cup is pretty high.
Today's special of fact resembling fiction:
@IndianFootball has found a way to fix domestic game & qualify for #WorldCup - by changing AIFF's name to Football Federation of Bharat.
Shows how serious the people running (or ruining?) the sport are!

Thomas Partey was called up for Ghana’s World Cup squad despite rape and sexual assault charges against him in the United Kingdom but will miss their opening match in Toronto on June 17.
The 32-year-old was granted a visa for the United States and is part of Ghana’s training camp at Bryant University, Rhode Island, but he will be unavailable for his nation’s first match against Panama in Toronto next week after being denied a visa to enter Canada.
Here, The Athletic explains the allegations against Partey — which he denies — and his participation at this World Cup.

Club legend Cesar Azpilicueta will retire from football at the end of the season.
Congratulations on a superb career, Azpi, and thank you for everything. 💙
It should be Indian prime minister Modi who sparks controversy for refusing to answer media questions while abroad, not a journalist for simply asking. https://t.co/trFVTeEUZh
Shocking reveal:
Modi did NOT take ECI permission for his TV address targeting Opposition parties during recent elections
👉 On 18th April, Modi did a sudden “address to the nation” supposedly on the topic of “naari shakti”
👉 He used the speech to name & attack Opposition parties INC, TMC, AAP, SP, DMK, & others for defeating the Delimitation Bill in Parliament
👉 He used a shocking expression saying “these parties had committed foeticide of women’s rights”
This TV speech happened in the middle of elections in Assam, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, & Kerala.
Now, in an RTI response, the ECI informs me that:
👉 Modi did NOT seek prior approval of the ECI for broadcasting the speech which is required under the Model Code of Conduct
👉 Despite this, ECI took NO ACTION against Modi
THIS is precisely why the most important fight before us today is against the compromised ECI & to protect free & fair elections.
When the ECI itself manipulates elections & works for Modi-Shah, we lose the right to be called a democracy.
Everyone wanted to win the Club World Cup - that was pretty evident so it is funny that suddenly since Chelsea won it, it means nothing and no one cares.
I love that we won it. I do play on the World Champions thing a little more because it winds everyone up but the truth is every fan of every other club would be the same, if their club won it, but they didn’t.
This is bang on from Jermaine tbf. Flawless points articulated brilliantly. Apart from the fact that Ashley Cole was playing for Arsenal and Ivanovic didn’t sign for us until 2.5 years later you really can’t argue with any of the points made 👏
Pretty shameful for the Athletic to even provide this person limelight and publicity.
If you're a media house and practice free speech, please do not disable your comments. If you write something, be prepared to face criticism for it too.
Mason Greenwood is the top scorer in France for Marseille.
He is not being considered for England selection by Thomas Tuchel.
He is wanted by Jamaica, though, and now has a passport, so he is eligible to play for them.
But his possible inclusion is a divisive topic — multiple Jamaica players have told The Athletic they have concerns about the prospect of him joining them for the World Cup play-offs after he declined to join up for the qualifiers.
