2️⃣5️⃣✅ - The campaign to Cap Away Ticket Prices grows.
Supporters of clubs across the country are adding their voices to the Scottish Supporters Collective’s demand to cap all away tickets in Scotland at £25.
Well done to the Gate 20 Falkirk ultras for highlighting the ridiculous away ticket prices they'd have to pay when visiting Celtic Park next month.
I don't believe that these prices reflect inflation\the cost of living increase over the past few years but, having said that, neither does an RRP of £2.35 for a 6-pack of Hula Hoops.
🏴 Falkirk are another Scottish side performing way above where they were expected to be at the start of the season.
Just 3 seasons ago John McGlynn took the job back when Falkirk were in the 3rd division preparing for their 4th season in that league.
In their 2nd & 3rd season under McGlynn, Falkirk gained consecutive promotions and found themselves back in the Premiership after 15 years away.
Amazingly, the team playing in the Premiership still consists of 7 players who made appearances for them in League One.
Tipped as one of the relegation favourites during pre-season, their season looked as if it was panning out that way, as they only had 1 win in their first 7, picking up 6 points in the process.
However, the turnaround since then has been immense, the only team to beat Motherwell at Fir Park, unbeaten against Aberdeen & Rangers.
They now find themselves 5 points clear of the bottom half with a game in hand. @fmeetsdata now has them with a 52% chance to finish top 6.
Calvin Miller & Scott Bain have been the standouts that I’ve picked out, Miller has 8 G+A making him sit 5th with goal contributions this season and amazingly he was one of the players in League One with Falkirk.
Scott Bain has been rewarded with a new contract extension thanks to his form this season. He has the 3rd most saves in the league (71) & 2nd most goals prevented (7.2).
Considering they have the lowest market value (€4.9m) & joint favourites to go down at the start of the season, John McGlynn really has been working some magic at Falkirk.
Falkirk v Celtic - £25
Celtic v Falkirk - £36
Well done @FalkirkFC and hopefully all other clubs are able to follow the trend, including @CelticFC.
Stop pricing fans out the game. £25 price cap now.
With FIFA only allocating the SFA 8% of the stadium capacity I thought I’d check how much the “Official Fan Travel Partner” would be.
For 2 people, 3 nights in a Boston hotel + flights (not direct) and 2 tickets for the Haiti match… £14,504.
FOURTEEN THOUSAND POUNDS.
Criminal.
The @FalkirkfcSS have been making great strides since their inception.
Communities deserve a say in how their football club is run.
There is no better way to ensure this than by supporting fans who wish to take ownership of their club.
