@SenWarren Liz - he clearly says “I buy companies that are having financial difficulty.” Translation: he buys failing companies (with his money and with substantial risk) and sells the parts to buyers who believe these parts will add value to their business.
@AGentlemanMark@ilovemyadhd@td_nash Good point… if Randy Johnson played every game, I'd give you that argument, but pitchers only play once every 4 to 5 days.
@ryanjcbrown@SteveBrown56416@lawzacj@SenWarren Meta Platforms (META) has paid tens of billions in taxes overall, with the accounting “provision for income taxes” (tax expense on its income statement) totaling roughly $80–85 billion cumulatively from 2012 through 2025.
Determining the exact number of jobs created by Facebook depends entirely on whether you are looking at their internal payroll or the broader "Facebook ecosystem.
1. Internal Employees (Direct Jobs)
As of 2026, Meta employs roughly **65,000 to 70,000 people** globally.
2. The "Ecosystem" Impact (Indirect Jobs)
Global Impact: A widely cited (though older) study by Deloitte estimated that Facebook helped create **4.5 million jobs** worldwide.
@ryanjcbrown@SteveBrown56416@lawzacj@SenWarren Could I? Yes. Do I currently? No. If I were only making $30K as a 44-year-old man, if I'm honest with myself, it's because I made some bad decisions somewhere along the way.
@JWick49662@waba01@td_nash So if you're old enough to remember, to make a super bowl in the AFC you had to fo through the GOAT and win in NE. Not an easy task. If you got through the GOAT you usually had to beat Manning. There was nothing like that on the NFC side.
Is he better than Brady? Talent-wise, absolutely. That doesn’t mean he's actually better. Elway was the MVP of the Super Bowl at 38, in his last game. Imagine if he had some teammates around him earlier in his career or an offensive-minded coach. Regardless, I agree with you that Rogers is probably the best pure talent at quarterback of all time. But there’s a reason he only won once, and it’s not because of bad defenses or missed kicks. You can criticize Elway for competing in what you call the easy AFC, but the NFC—in Rogers’ era—was that conference because he didn’t have to face Peyton Manning or Tom Brady. Again, i think even Rodgers would admit he didn't live up to expectations.
@JWick49662@td_nash Why do you have to say something like that? If we were talking at a bar and having a couple of brewskis, would you insult me like that? Elway made 5 Super Bowls and won 2. He retired with the most wins by a QB. Rodgers has done less with more than any QB in history.
@AGentlemanMark@ilovemyadhd@td_nash Yes, it's a team game, but QB is the most important position in sports. Brady won 6 in NE, left, and they sucked. He went to TB and immediately won. There's a reason. Leadership and decision making.
@AGentlemanMark@ilovemyadhd@td_nash You kind of proved my point for me. Rodgers was perhaps the most talented QB of all time, yet he has the least to show for it. I think even Rodgers himself would admit that one title, and especially just one Super Bowl, is a major underachievement given his level of talent.
@lowfive_@PeterSchiff@SenSanders So. He doesn't ‘need’ millions of dollars. He should give it to poor people so they don't lose their healthcare. Right?
Your messaging is poor. The wealthy already pay all of the taxes in this country. Those who haven't achieved much pay almost nothing. Are they truly paying their fair share or just getting a free ride? I could agree with some of this if you didn't constantly demonize successful people.
@bevkingmelo@td_nash@bamagirl_4_eva No, it's not. Look at wins. Elway's went to 5 Super Bowls, which was a record when he retired. Rodgers went to 1 and didn't have to go through Brady or Manning. He's a terrible leader.
