@c_hackett I totally understand your position. If it wasn't for my wife having gotten a job offer semi close to home before I finished at FSU, and then them needing a last minute position in History and asking her if I would be interested, I would have stayed in industry just for family
@friede@LauraBaileyVO Our table would not exist without CR. We have an 8 person table (including myself and another as gms). Myself and the other gm both began wanting to play because of watching CR and other APs. I would love to discuss it further if it is helpful to your research.
As a history instructor married to a Math professor, when I walk in her class and hear the discussion with students, I can envision how people used to believe in magic. My brain is so far removed from in-depth Mathematics. #AcademicTwitter
@saragoldrickrab Honestly, I had a teaching assistant give me a few guest lectures and tips when I was finished. Otherwise, it was mostly from noting how others taught and adapted the styles that I enjoyed and learned best from
@HN2DM Yes. I'm 1st time dming as well. I had a limited experience with DnD, and they asked me to run a one-shot, which turned into a long-form campaign.
I know an undergrad in NYC looking to get her foot in the door/build her historical research skills. She's looking outside of her institution. Please let me know if you know of someone looking to hire a research assistant or a cool internship I should tell her about!
@ceaubin Had the exact same moment with the entire table I run now. They asked at a child's birthday party if I would run a table. They are all now completely indoctrinated (in the best way possible).

Does anyone want to put together a panel on women in Old Regime France? Can look at power, agency, employment, inheritance...the sky is the limit, and I have several ideas for a paper I'd like to write.
Have you (or anyone you know) ever thought โIโd love to work with the amazing data, collections, experts, and technology at the Library of Congress but I donโt want to move to DC?โ Well, check it out!!
This person will report to me and I canโt wait to work with you!!
