@daveginvesting Volatility — fun on the upside. Miserable on the downside 👎 Sorry you caught the wrong end of it this time. You’ll be back on the right side soon enough.
The thing people need to remember is this is where failure is supposed to happen…during testing rather than during flight. We have seen a lot of SpaceX rockets explode during flight and it gets rationalized as “we learned something” which is very true. But in this case we are learning in a much more controlled environment with much less broader distraction as a result. This is all part of development of a rocket.
With all the interest and hype around @RocketLab and @SpaceX lately, please consider coming to work for us!
Rocket Lab is an awesome place to work with offices literally all around the world now. It's a world class company to work for with an incredible team of determined individuals.
My DMs are open for referrals of exceptional people, please don't hesitate!
@Just1nMKE@RKLBMan I agree with RocketMan. If this is long term retirement money ask yourself is there a stock that you have more conviction in for a better return over the next X years? If not, don’t touch it, just ride the ride. If there is….please tell me!!! I would imagine there aren’t many.
You can’t spend numbers on a screen 🤷♂️ Everyone’s situation and goals are different. Personally I buy and sell at specific levels and build positions over time for the long term. But as a position gets too big (RKLB is now over 54% of my portfolio), it’s prudent to reallocate. And that’s even after using margin to opportunistically build positions in AI and tech momentum stocks when they were down recently. Right now we are in uncharted territory and momentum is hot and this company is extraordinarily well run in an up and coming industry. So I don’t have a near term price target. I’ll pay down some margin when it feels right to pay back the investments in other names. But long term I believe this is a $450+ stock so if you can handle the volatility and are investing cash for the long term, don’t try to trade it to make a fee extra dollars. Timing is a fools errand. GLTA.
And to be fair, I also sold out of a lot of shares at 9, and 12 frusted with the stock and rotating between opportunities. My point was that I dont believe any investor ever makes one big purchase in a stock and times even a relative bottom. The market is always searching for the “right price” so no one can know. And so i find it strange all these people on X that hold their entire position in great companies at a really low entry. They should keep buying in if it is so great!
