The TVA Board of Directors selects Mike Skaggs as interim president and CEO. Mike brings decades of experience at TVA and across the nuclear energy industry. He previously served as senior vice president of Operations and Construction at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant and led the completion of Unit 2 in 2016, a historic milestone for American energy.
His steady leadership and deep operational experience will help guide our work as we continue to deliver reliable, affordable energy, serve the people and communities of the Tennessee Valley, and advance the next generation of nuclear power to support America’s energy future.

We are listening.
We paused our reliability improvement work for a new transmission line on the north side of Gallatin because we want to learn more. We’ve launched a new initiative to ensure community voices are heard as we work on projects that deliver reliable, affordable electricity to the areas that need it most.
Members of this task force include longtime farmers and landowners, farm association members, people at electric co-ops who serve rural areas and union members.
We invited country music artist @johnrich to co-chair, but he declined to serve. We still welcome and encourage his input.
We remain focused on supporting the Administration’s energy dominance goals as we work on projects to meet the ever-growing demand for electricity from people across the region.
This is why I’m so grateful the Cumberland Fossil Plant will continue utilizing coal. Thanks to leadership that prioritizes American energy, this plant continues delivering jobs, STEM grants for local schools, support for families in need, and a steady stream of power to more than 1.4 million homes.

Winter storms remind us that we need to invest and expand new nuclear power nationwide so all Americans have reliable power!
@TVAnews welcomed US Secretary of Labor for a look at how reliable power & workforce development go hand in hand. This type of focus is part of the broader ecosystem that supports Tennessee’s nuclear and energy leadership.
