Here's the highly liquid BTC by @glassnode, these are coins that move quickly between investors, i.e. traded. The smaller the number, the more bullish it becomes as there's less coins available to be bought.
20% less.
Meanwhile a 20-30% gain in paper BTC to make up for it.
This is a slide from my TOKEN2049 talk. It's the ratio of "paper BTC" (combined futures open value) that's traded vs the real BTC that is highly liquid and traded. We are now in a regime of 20-30% more BTC being traded. This counteracts a bullish supply shock.
This is a blog sized post, explaining why the rise in size and liquidity of paper BTC markets is an enemy to BTC.
And answers why a spot ETF was held back for so long.
#Bitcoin solved personal sovereignty over assets. We hold it, we send it, nobody can stop us. But to be useful it needs a price.
Thus its weak point: it's price can be suppressed by synthetic BTC. This is why a spot ETF has been delayed for so long in favour of synthetic ETFs.
Will buying up the inventory of BTC on exchanges moon the price?
NO! This is a fallacy. This happened all through the 2022 bear.
There's no supply shock because synthetic BTC via futures markets added to inventory.
The market made a bottom when futures markets relented.
A spot ETF will help rectify this issue.
For 7 years the spot ETF has been denied, while futures markets have flourished.
The SEC's agenda has been very clear.
On a personal note... neglecting to account for the macro impact of paper BTC was a big failure of mine. I saw the market bullish in early 2022 by reading on-chain (spot) flows as bullish, all the while the leviathan of futures impact was saying the opposite.

@JeffBooth@lauradaughtry Yes can definitely relate… it is another world for most people… you need motivation time and energy to go down the rabbit hole…. Probably helps to be an independent thinker as well…
@RivaTommaso@Film661 An essential point … the judge must listen to this …however I suppose the judges position might be that the pause time stamp is whenever BlockFi decided to pause … rather than the time stamp of formal … ie email notification of the pause….
@PeterSchiff I wonder what’s motivating you … I find it hard to believe you believe what you say about Bitcoin…surely you can see understand the fundamentals and see the long term bull trend… what game are you playing… probably obvious to some ..please explain his incentives…😝
@Politix_LIVE @bitcoinarchive Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa…a group of nations with fast growing economies.. perhaps economic power will gravitate to them..
