@yupitchris@XXXXBitterLord@cosmicjester This might have worked on the 70s but unless there is serious sunk capital - and governments of both sides have worked hard to deindustrialise Australia - they just pack up and leave.
@TMFScottP A vote for OneNation means although they will be all over the shop it will force a few adjustments which will be quite painful. Our asset inflation, immigration led economy was forced on most people and is the majors lazy way to grow.
This is forcing misery on so many
@MattxH@matt_barrie I.. think that is what he is saying.
That is what most people are saying. Sure make housing cheaper but don’t smash business creation.
@SwingRequired@chrisbrycki Look at it from an overseas investor point of view. Why would they risk capital when many other markets are more welcoming?
This policy will not incentivise productivity and chases away investment.
@ctindale It is clear that our heads in the Treasury and in the cabinet have no idea how the world works. I’m completely perplexed how this got through leadership, let alone to the public.
@samstrades@Bex724 I reckon the ALP will walk the start up tax back. They can’t be that stupid to keep it as is. Boggling that the treasury boffins thought it was a good idea
@TysonBarker8@Joelrw_au@DrewPavlou Australia’s State of the Environment (SoE) reports explicitly state that human activity and population growth are major drivers of pressures on biodiversity. snote “very high impact” from population growth.
If this is all about housing for young people then why are all our other assets being included such as shares , commercial property , industrial property what’s that got to do with housing ?
Practically, the only rigorously proven things you can do for life extension right now are:
- Don't be fat
- Be fit
- Control your blood sugar
- Control your blood pressure
- Have low cholesterol
- Don't poison yourself
Almost everything else is speculative and dubious.
