Today is the day!
@mattdinniman drops Dungeon Crawler Carl 8. I drop Crypt Currency on KU.
Bad planning on my part, but we can salvage it! Let's make it Barbenheimer day for fantasy. Crypt Crawler? Carl Currency? Whatever we call it — we can make it happen. Link below.
⚔️ Crownfall is out now.
No more countdowns. No more “almost.” It’s here.
If you’ve been waiting, this is your moment.
And if you take a chance on it, thank you. Truly. 👑

Spatial finally has a home on the interwebs at https://t.co/0rzUZZiqBK. Mostly helpful for getting a grip on what the app does, but you'll also see what's planned next, and what's been added lately.
@JoeBerne1 I will concede that point. Wasn’t looking at publishing dates, just the narrative. But to your OP: Silmarillion, Fantastic Beasts, Songbirds+Snakes, and in the game world Tomb Raider 2013, FF7 Crisis Core…these are all great, and they have great originals.
to signal human composed, we have gravitated towards
- lowercasing the first letter in the sentence (Auto-Capitalization off),
- using dashes instead of emdashes- preferably with unbalanced neighboring whitespace,
- improper punctuation (especially at the end of a paragraph)
- even including some misspelled words.
I imagine this style will age poorly as AIs become more sophisticated and replicate this too. These are our last grasps at the Turing Test
Lucy and Derek both have wish lists.
Lucy wants a green Porsche 911 Carrera, a blue Pagani Zonda and a black Toyota Prius.
Derek wants a black Toyota Prius, a blue Pagani Zonda and a pink Ford Raptor.
If you combine their lists, how many cars are unique across both lists?
The more I write, the more I've come to realise that writers' block is just shorthand for using the wrong tool for the wrong job.
Why does this scene not work?
- Because dialogue is clunky.
Why is it clunky?
- Because your characters aren't getting to the point.
Why aren't they getting to the point?
- Because you can't express what they want in a single sentence.
The block was never the correct dialog tag or finding what they should say but because Past Me(TM) decided a placeholder for character motivation was good enough to start writing.
Writers, if you're on Mac and looking for a visual tool to complement your writing app, this is one to check out. I cannot overstate how useful and powerul it is at the same time.
Almost 16 months in the making, I'm finally at a point where I'm calling this good to go on the App Store. It's been my privilege to share the journey with you all, here's to the cool things still to come. Spatial is now available at https://t.co/ckC0Kq1oqH
