@Sandra_Cox Hate ‘crusty’ in this. ‘Jaded’ or ‘weathered’ or ‘storm-worn’ or ‘Marlboro-scarred’ would be better. ‘Crusty’ is just such an odd, off-putting, cringy word with so many negative modern-day associations. It emotionally bars the next step in the story.
