If you would like to steal little time with the incomparable Secretary Albright today, here is our conversation. It is worth a read just for her opening anecdote. @helenbarrett@AlecuRussell@ftweekend

The day after I interviewed Madeline Albright at her house she called me to follow up. She said she had more stories to tell, so we chatted away. She was warm, funny, whip-smart and a brilliant raconteur. They say never meet your heroes. I'm certainly glad I did. 1/7
Albright was the first woman to Serve as Secretary of State, America's representative to the United Nations. We spoke at length about world affairs, but also about her daughters, of whom she was clearly ineffably proud. My thoughts are with them and her family. 6/7
My awesome, hilarious dad @MikeLeeNews (who happens to be a foreign correspondent with 40 years in the field) has a Substack newsletter. If you enjoy snacking on news & cracking subheadings -“A Good Pandemic for the Bats!” - he’s your guy. Go follow him! https://t.co/QUVFBzfqP9

My family came to America after fleeing a coup, so I know that freedom is fragile. But I never thought I would see such an assault on democracy be cheered on from the Oval Office. I believe in the resilience of democracy and eagerly await the arrival of new national leadership.
My great grandmother Ruby from Macon Georgia was one of seven sisters, all named after precious stones. When they were born they didn’t have the right to vote. No woman in America did. Last day to register to vote in Georgia’s Senate runoff folks! https://t.co/nZjqLC3SrD
“The pandemic has laid bare how much work has yet to be done to realize the promise of “inclusive housing”. The hard reality is that housing policies too often exclude those most in need”
