It has been months in the making, but today I launched the 2026 Midterms Candidate Due Diligence website.
https://t.co/1aNdeB8x7s
For far too long we have not had a comprehensive side-by-side picture of who is funding our candidates, who pays for them to get elected, their stance on issues we care about, and many more important factors.
So, I built what I could not find: a page for every single person on your ballot, showing exactly who is paying for them.
Pick your state and you get your voting rules, issues on your specific ballot this midterm, a map of your congressional districts, the measures on your ballot and what they actually do, and a profile on all 2,517 candidates for governor, Senate and House.
For each candidate it shows where their money came from and who wrote the checks, what outside groups spent for them and against them, the companies and nonprofits they own out of their own financial disclosure, and where they stand on the issues with the vote or the quote behind it.
Every number links back to the filing it came from. If something is missing or something is wrong, tell me and I will fix it.
Finalizing some of the smaller elections now, but it's 80% done.
It is free and the site doesn't ask for donations. But if you would like to support my work you can subscribe to my Substack (link in bio) or buy me a coffee at https://t.co/NOYK2TE0kk
I hope you enjoy!
Russ Vought, in his official capacity, has the power to interfere in elections by replacing nonpartisan election officials with loyalists, cut critical funding, and block independent election oversight.
Trump wants to rig the election, and he’s shouting the quiet part out loud.
He did what? Merely violate banking law? Let's stop. For those not old enough to remember this, Hastert was the King of Pedos.
Hastert had sexually abused teenage boys when he was a high-school wrestling coach from 1965-1980s. Decades later, he agreed to pay one victim $3.5 million in hush money. He structured cash withdrawals to evade federal bank-reporting requirements and initially lied to investigators. There is more to "violating bank laws" than CBS News wants to eulogize him with. Because the statute of limitations had expired on the sexual abuse, prosecutors couldn't charge him for those crimes. They prosecuted the financial crimes instead. At sentencing, the federal judge called Hastert a “serial child molester.” Look it up.
Each election year, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) takes extra steps to ensure ballots sent through the mail arrive at election offices on time. This year, it’s delaying those efforts. https://t.co/tXZrAu3rpl
Telling a Black woman who is a descendant of enslaved people to leave America, @JDVance.
I do not know what to say.
Even I didn't believe you would go this low.
According to a new WSJ poll:
63% want to pause AI development
61% want a billionaire wealth tax
59% want Medicare for All
57% want a $20 minimum wage
58% want to end U.S. military aid to Israel
The American people want real change.
DEMOCRATS MUST LISTEN.
NEW: I analyzed seven years of Cornell's sexual violence case data. Expulsions are very rare.
1,216 reports of sexual assault, DV and stalking from 2018-2024.
162 formal investigations.
51 findings of fault.
14 suspensions.
7 expulsions or dismissals. https://t.co/yL3abPPQHr
We know that the local DA Matthew Van Houten concluded that the alleged gang rape by Scott Norris and Scott Kretzschmer and other @cornell Phi Chi buddies was of no concern. Does @cornell board member @KathyHochul or NY DA Letitia James have nothing to say about this?
Cornell did almost nothing in the case of the "Cornell 7," the fraternity members accused in a lawsuit of drugging and gang r*ping a student in 2024. No one was charged, and records show most of them stayed enrolled. If you missed my video, watch it first.
I figured if they handled this case the way they did, then they probably had skeletons. So, I followed the the money, and I was right, it's bad.
Highlights below:
(1) Cornell's 2025 tax return has a line that reads "LEGAL MATTERS: $878,000,000." It's for a Cornell doctor who abused patients, some as young as 13. Cornell admitted to federal prosecutors that it sat on complaints about him for six years. When another hospital asked why he left, his department chair didn't tell them, and he kept abusing patients there.
(2) Cornell owns the fraternity house where the assault allegedly happened. Three months after it suspended the chapter, Cornell's official Giving Day website was still raising money for that house. It told donors their gifts show "we are in this together and supporting the ongoing success of Chi Phi." Cornell has since deleted the page but I have the archived copy.
(3) Federal law requires colleges to report money from foreign governments and foreign organizations. Qatar has paid Cornell about $2.3 billion since 2001 to run a Cornell medical school in Doha, and another $1.08 billion is promised through 2032. Cornell didn't report more than $1 billion of that money until federal investigators came asking in 2019. In 2024 Cornell's top lawyer swore its reports were up to date. Then this year Cornell disclosed that its 2020 Qatar contract has conditions tied to faculty employment, which it had never reported before. So a foreign-funded foundation run by Qatar's ruling family is paying billions with strings attached, and the public keeps learning about it years late.
(4) While the abuse liability grew past $1 billion, Cornell's audits called it "not material." Moody's flagged the legal claims in March 2024, and days later Cornell sold $1.1 billion in bonds to investors.
(5) The firm lobbying Washington for Cornell's medical school is also a paid foreign agent for the Embassy of Qatar.
(6) Cornell paid $13.5 million to Paul Weiss, the law firm whose chairman cut a deal with Trump and then resigned over his Jeffrey Epstein emails. That firm represented Cornell's medical school in the federal abuse investigation.
(7) The DA declined the fraternity case of the Cornell 7.
(8) A federal lawsuit alleges Cornell kept "VIP watch lists" of applicants tied to major donors.
(9) Cornell's own survey shows the share of undergraduate women reporting nonconsensual sexual contact rose from 23% to 35% in two years. Its Title IX office has four staff, while it pays a single law firm more than $6.5 million a year.
Cornell takes ~ $800M/year year in federal research money and pays no tax on billions in property. This is what that money protects.
More to come....
On the *same day* the Cornell Seven drugged and raped Jane Doe, Cornell banned four students (including the President of Cornell @jvplive) from campus for three years for nonviolent, pro-Palestine protests. The same @Cornell officials let the rapists off with apology essays.
John Roberts has spent his entire career trying to kill the Voting Rights Act. Now his Republican-appointed majority is dusting off arguments once used to destroy Reconstruction to roll back the gains made during the civil rights era.

Remember what happened last time Trump delisted wolves?
It unleashed what the former director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service—who'd previously been in favor of delisting wolves—described as the “epidemic of cruelty” and "ecocide."
As a result, he forcefully called for:
1. Immediately restore federal ESA protection for wolves, using the emergency-listing provision.
2. Appoint a qualified permanent FWS director capable of providing science-based leadership.
Their ESA protection was restored under Biden after a federal court overturned Trump's delisting—but Trump casually trashes it again:
Trump has ordered the Interior Department to remove ESA protections for gray wolves and Mexican wolves, while also directing agencies to make it easier to kill wolves.

Three newsrooms lost White House access today. It's everywhere.
An AP story published at 7:51 this morning got no coverage at all: the largest voter turnout groups in the country are running out of money. Right now. With voting underway.
Guess which one nobody's litigating.

The State of Alabama executed Jeffery Lee tonight, despite the fact that a jury of his peers voted for a sentence of life imprisonment.
