The sheer Ignorance, of the Luddites that CANCELLED this Battery Storage at the UK's largest Solar Farm is STAGGERING!!!! 😡 Bravo @SwaleCouncil for maintaining Fossil Fuel business as usual. Future generations will be proud! #stopburningstuff@NYKChannel
101 reasons to buy a @Tesla (from a 9-year Tesla owner):
1. £7.50 ($10) to fill up at home (250+ miles)
2. Reduced running costs (due to no major services being needed) compared with an old school ICE
3. Not pumping fumes in the faces of children walking to school daily (it blows my mind this is acceptable in 2024).
4. Not breathing in fumes from the exhaust system (amazingly, this happens way too much in an ICE and nobody seems bothered).
5. Filtered air using HEPA filtration (ideal when going past a sewage works on my commute)
6. Instant Torque, this is such a wild feeling the first time you experience it!
7. Phone Key, you don't realise how awesome this is until you try it for a few days. I now just carry a phone, no wallet and no keys.
8. Smooth acceleration or abrupt if you really want/need it
9. The Powertrain is unmatched.
10. Charge at nearly 1500 UK Superchargers or thousands more across Europe!
11. Superb App Control
12. Pre-heat the cabin whilst you eat your breakfast or finish your dinner
13. Mobile Service come to your work / home etc to fix 50-70% of any issues
14. Tesla Remote diagnostics fixes a bunch of things remotely and can even diagnose before someone physically looks at your car and preorders the parts in etc
15. The car's software gets better all the time (even if the car is 10 years old) with over-the-air updates (no need to visit Tesla)
16. Caraoke with Taylor Swift (don't pretend you don't)
17. Gaming in the car
18. No gear changing, you don't realise how weird this is until you try it, you won't ever go back
19. Slick design (literally, it's super aerodynamic)
20. Silent driving (if you must have a loud exhaust, you can buy a digital kit but nobody does)
21. Spotify and Apple Music built-in, which automatically syncs with your phone/computer etc exactly where you left off (even moves between Tesla vehicles)
22. Superb community willing to help you get the most from your car
23. Various Tax incentives (depending on age/year/country etc)
24. Tesla actually listens to owners (especially via official clubs, the UK is partly responsible for around 4 software changes, 3 bug fixes and various changes to service and customer service).
25. Honk to find your Tesla or use the map after a gig/event etc
26. The car farts (inside and out) - priceless for kids (and some adults)
27. Tesla enables new features not previously sold as part of the car (e.g. Matrix Headlights)
28. Charge it via solar panels on your roof
29. Superb sound system as standard
30. No endless list of optional extras which increase the price by £20K
31. No pushy sales staff
32. Tesla actually encourages you to test drive even if you have literally no intention of buying ("it's like your own personal rollercoaster")
33. Build quality in 2024 is next level, superior now to many manufacturers who have been building cars for 100+ years!
34. The ability to have multiple profiles set for the car and each phone/key act as control, moving between cars moves the profile across
35. See your home within the Tesla app
36. Refer friends to test drive and buy a car and get rewarded (some amazing prizes I've had over the years)
37. Control charging from your phone whilst at superchargers or home chargers
38. Race your neighbours to melt ice off the windscreen as they scrape theirs (this is weirdly more fun than it really should be)
39. Remote sentry mode (helps with #38 as well)
40. Sentry Mode to catch someone damaging your car
41. Dashcam built-in with all your cameras recording
42. Quickly add a friend or family member as a driver remotely
43. Superb Tesla employees who put safety, security and improving the company as a #1 priority
44. One of the safest cars on the road, seriously it's often missed but it's #1 priority at Tesla from what I've seen
45. Summon, I thought it was a gimmick but it's actually useful, it's also hilarious at a drag strip when you're racing against a car with a team of 4 engineers pushing their car by hand and you say 'Watch this' 😂 and they look at you in shock!
46. Mario Kart Fan? Rainbow Road mode!
47. Chat directly with the engineers working on your car if it goes in for service.
48. Customise the app to your preferences
49. The Tesla Nod
50. Tesla's BugCrowd Bounty (we've sent thousands of £ to charity over the years helping Tesla find security vulnerabilities and bugs before they can be exploited).
51. Pin-To-Drive
52. YouTube, Netflix etc in the car and full screen
53. Decent levels of storage space in the front (frunk) and back (trunk)
54. Low Center of Gravity = Decent Road Handling
55. Active Suspension is impress (depends on the model)
56. A fully grown elephant can literally sit on top of the roof and it won't collapse.
57. Service mode showing all the amazing tech behind the car
58. The Tesla Grin (0-60mph in 2 seconds)
59. Regen braking puts otherwise wasted energy back into the battery
60. 'Hold' driving setting means it's fully one pedal driving (you will never want to go back)
61. It takes 10 seconds to charge... Arrive home, walk to charge port, plug in and forget about it. Wake up the next day with a full battery (I appreciate this is a luxury of having a driveway)
62. Some rather insane product launch events (e.g. Cybertruck & Roadster)
63. You will feel weirdly compelled to talk Tesla with everyone you meet.
64. There are some superb Tesla Owners Club events out there (e.g. we went to Silverstone with 150 Tesla cars and annoyed a Petrol sponsor by driving all their special guests, VIPs and directors around with massive grins on their faces).
65. You likely will meet some very interesting people who are also owners, some of these may turn into lifelong friends (too many to tag).
66. I've had the pleasure of chatting with @woodhaus2, @JVerdura, @elonmusk, @baglino, @troyrjones, @rohanspatel, @wolfson292, @jorgemilburn, @omead, @cbhwood, Tim Findlay, Joe Ward, and David Zhang along with various other VPs, country and service leaders, they all genuinely care about the product, truly know the product inside and out, care about the future of Tesla like you wouldn't imagine and have an open-door policy so if a concern isn't being addressed via normal channels they're more than happy to look into it and ensure it gets fixed.
67. Tesla doesn't just cater for one or two markets, they're focused on a global mission (although I still want my RHD Model S Plaid)
68. The battery technology is unmatched
69. Kids love Tesla.
70. Factories that will blow your mind (you can even tour some of them, and I'd highly recommend doing it after doing 3 of them myself)
71. The vertical integration within the company is incredible
73. Dog mode is something you don't realise how amazing it can be
74. Bioweapon Defence mode for the odd strong odour...
75. That glass roof is ideal for bird of prey spotting (our kids love this)
76. Destination Charger programme has provided us with some superb overnight stays where we otherwise would have ended up in a crappy hotel
77. Damn, the Model 3 performance is surprisingly good on a track, and obviously, the Model S on a drag strip!
78. Track mode is awesome (Performance Models only)
79. That Map on the screen, it's great to find random interesting buildings on your drive
80. Autopilot means you're more rested at the end of a long trip
81. Camp mode is actually quite a unique and fun experience
82. Various Easter Eggs to put a smile on your face
83. Tesla holds itself to high standards via their Impact Reports, thinking about everything from the amount of water it uses within their factories to showcasing what their technology is actually doing (e.g. FSD making human drivers safer) compared with others.
84. Connect the car via the API to services like Octopus Intelligent to reduce the cost of home charging but also charge when the grid is greenest!
85. Superb official owners clubs available globally doing some incredible work to push the mission forward, support owners and do some incredible charity efforts (e.g. the UK have delivered over 180 toy Tesla Radioflyers to children's hospices and hospitals)
86. Those door handles! Rumoured to save about 1-3% of range.
87. Tesla is fun (see Tesla Tequila, Cyberquads, reveal events etc)
88. The @TeslaCharging supercharger team are not slowing down anytime soon
89. Tesla runs some great programmes internally (Veterans, Women In Tesla, Black at Tesla, LGBTQ at Tesla, Latinos at Tesla etc) and score perfect scores for diversity, inclusion and equality.
90. No on/off button to 'start' the car, just get in and drive!
91. Automatic Cabin Overheat Protection has you back
92. The cars dance (especially the Model X) or do a light show
93. Getting into a car with heated seats that have been on for 15 minutes never gets old.
94. Your car talks to the mothership to train Tesla Dojo and improve future AP/FSD
95. The Megaphone Feature puts a silly grin on my face
96. Regen braking gives you easily 100,000+ miles on a set of brake pads
97. Unlike in many other EVs, you just get in the Tesla, add your destination (could be 3 countries away) and start driving, no planning needed, the system quickly suggests the places to charge.
98. For long distance travel, the navigation takes into account not only the number of cars currently charging at a site but who else is navigating to that supercharger, if it's quicker to go elsewhere it will change your route to speed up your travel.
99. Santa's Sleigh on Autopilot at Christmas puts a smile on the kid's faces
100. Remote check the PSI of your tyres
101. A mission worth fighting for, Tesla's overarching goal of accelerating the transition to sustainable transport and energy is compelling for many (like me) who want to be part of a larger movement towards a better future for their kids whilst also seeing immediate change happening.
.@AllisonPearson has shared her thoughts on the #ElectricVehicle transition in today's @Telegraph
Been a while since I've seen an article with quite so many inaccuracies and unevidenced claims
So, here's a not-so-little thread to debunk some of the things that have been said

Still one of the best campaigns produced about the damage petrol and diesel fumes do to the British public. It blows my mind the NHS spend £6 billion a year in health damage from cars and van pollution like this [Oxford University 2018] - @elonmusk fancy paying for these ads?
