@BenHundeyin@PoliceNG
This message comes from citizens who seek change and a different approach to law enforcement.
We want a proactive police force that recognizes errors and addresses them to prevent future occurrences or minimize their impact. Recent events in Oyo State, which tragically led to the loss of life due to the actions of the police on duty, highlighted these issues. According to your report, a citizen was accused of breaking a traffic law. However, it was clearly established that this citizen posed no threat to life or property in the vicinity, yet they were treated as if they did.
The response to this incident demonstrates a lack of proper training for situations like this, which has occurred multiple times across the country. With all due respect, I am not attempting to tell you how to do your job, but as a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I have the right to express my views and contribute to discussions about improvement.
I propose a new approach to handling such situations in the future, and I suggest that the police force establish a team to train and orient the larger active police force. I am willing to contribute as much as I can, as it is my duty as a citizen.
(a) In cases where a traffic offender has been identified, the police force should allocate surveillance equipment to each patrol or traffic team to record the data of the offender. Currently, there is not enough street and road surveillance in the country.
(b) I believe the police force has a capable database to record this surveillance, which can be linked to the devices mentioned in section (1a). There should be a dedicated team for collecting and processing this data, and follow-up investigations should be conducted if required. Offenders could be notified via text message about fines for the traffic laws they have violated, with a window for payment before the fine increases. This could generate internal revenue, which would help fund and sustain this department.
2. (a) Police officers should receive orientation on this new procedure and training on how to use the surveillance tools proposed in section (1a). Furthermore, the police force must avoid engaging in car chases for traffic offenders, as there is already an automated system in place to penalize them. Specific criteria should be established for when a runaway motorist warrants a pursuit.
(b) In the case of firearms, police officers should never open fire on citizens who are not an immediate threat to the public, and stringent criteria should be set to define when a citizen may be regarded as a public threat.
I believe we all desire the same outcome, both citizens and the police force want a system in which we can trust law enforcement to ensure our safety, while officers also receive the proper training and orientation necessary for their roles.
I hope this message reaches the appropriate authorities. I am willing to contribute my skills and resources if needed to help implement these changes, and I believe many Nigerians would be willing to do the same.
We seek not only justice and accountability for officers in these situations but also meaningful reforms!

@tomiwalker_ We are too caught up in the notion that "Nigerians have talent" and "Nigerians are hard workers." While these statements aren’t incorrect, we often overlook the fact that countries like China and India have grown due to IP sharing, thinkers and visionaries.
@Fikifiki_123@only1Tymlez@DeeOneAyekooto@PoliticalProph2 Education in our country is nearly free from primary through secondary levels, and there are subsidies for tertiary institutions.
countries that offer free healthcare, funding typically comes from specific tax allocations, in the UK, 8% of your salary goes to NI for NHS
@fascostarboi@kinddddy@sonders_808s@Rinzysnap When will you understand it's not about the label, but Wiz's type of marketing? He mentioned in the "Made in Lagos" rollout, "I hate PR."
@Aea36534408@CFCKhris In the last two seasons, he has created over 150 chances, second in defensive duties in the midfield. He has the most G/A & covers more distance per game than any other player.
People want winners, yet want to get rid of the winners already in the team.
@AyamTjay@agutu_timo36523@Blue_Footy@marca Eden Hazard has publicly said he wants to play for Real Madrid, stating that it is his dream. We received several bids for him and did our best to keep him as long as possible. Enzo said he likes Madrid and would love to live there someday, as it reminds him of his hometown.
@Okeygeraldino@tundealuko This is not about politics/candidates,it's about Nigeria. I was responding to your comment about referencing other countries
GEJ built MM2, Buhari Abuja, and BAT MM1. All of this is happening in Nigeria, and we've only been at this for over 60 years, with 27 years of democracy
@Okeygeraldino@tundealuko Only want to be attached to the finished product and not the process of making it. If other nations had behaved exactly like us, they would not possess what you envy.
“The infrastructure you failed to build yesterday is the infrastructure you don’t have today”
@Okeygeraldino@tundealuko The airport has been in operation since 1979, yet no president has deemed it necessary for a complete transformation.
The issue with you guys is that you've created a bubble filled with wishes and fantasies, which has distanced you from your actual reality
@ashashakano@jinmi_dave@dsmotorxflorid5@Femi_OfMainland Noted, I read about the salary increase a few months ago. The lowest salary of 105k is still higher than the minimum wage of 30k or now at 70k. Even with the new minimum wage, they still earn more than the average in the country, which was the main point of our conversation.
@wambadeluozi@INCREDIBUUUUU@Zlatandiary Palmer has been “downed the tool” since the start of 2025. Please sell him as well, we desperately need experience, yet they are selling one of our most experienced players.
@jinmi_dave@dsmotorxflorid5@Femi_OfMainland The lowest earner in the Nigerian military is an entry level private, earning 104,000 naira when the minimum wage was 30,000 naira. After the last raise, the same rank now earns 300,000 naira, which is three times the minimum wage.
