Today, his official accounts shared a throwback video of the late former president Daniel arap Moi campaigning at the Coast after retirement. In that same clip, a young William Ruto is right there fully defending Moi from critics who were saying he should step aside.

Ruto did not just defend him. He went further and confidently said even Mwai Kibaki would one day retire and join Moi at home.

Now fast forward.

That same message is coming back, but this time without shouting, without insults, just pure strategy from Uhuru Kenyatta.

And that is where it becomes uncomfortable.

Because Uhuru too has a right to speak and deep down Ruto knows it better than anyone else. The same principles he defended back then are now knocking on his door.

This is not just a random post. This is a reminder. A calculated one.

And honestly, that kind of silent move hits harder than noise.
