🇬🇭 AI meets the “Yam Phone”!
— No smartphone? No problem. Watch how Klenam Tamakloe and her team have built a groundbreaking AI innovation that lets people access AI directly on a yam phone, proving that technology can reach everyone.
As the Minister for Communication and technology @samgeorgegh stated clearly Africa needs tools that reflects the African reality.
Funza AI seeks to address that reality with Al delivered via sms.
Once, my psychologist told me "People can understand your pain, your traumas, and where they come from, and still find your actions unacceptable. Your trauma doesn't justify your mistake, it only explains it."
We stormed the streets of Accra to show people that AI can work on a yam phone.
The reactions were really interesting
My boss in blue said he didn't think it was possible.
We showed him otherwise.
We dey streets dey boost brains chale
Let's show the world Funza AI
@samgeorgegh@iharunaiddrisu let's run this for the people.
Happy Workers’ Day, Ghana 🇬🇭
Today, we celebrate every worker whose dedication, creativity, and resilience continue to build a stronger nation.
Thank you for powering progress and shaping the future.
#HappyWorkersDay#WorkersDayGhana#AthmonTechFirm
Athmon was proud to engage with delegates at the Youth Diplomacy Institute sessions focused on youth leadership, diplomacy, and Africa’s future.
We also presented an AI solution designed to work offline and on feature phones expanding accessibility across African communities.
As a founder building AI in Ghana
We need founders to be part of this NITA conversation.
Not to oppose it.
To shape it.
The best regulation is built
with the people it affects
not just for them.
@samgeorgegh@NITAGhana
we are here.
Today a classroom in Ghana
met AI.
On a basic yam phone.
No internet.
No expensive device.
Thier reactions was just pure excitement.
Watch their faces.
That reaction is why we built this.
@iharunaiddrisu@samgeorgegh@georgeoaddo
This should be happening in schools all across the country.
Let’s give our future leaders the tools they need to succeed.
The damage is everywhere: broken land, dead rivers, lost cocoa farms, ruined ecosystems.
