@headofcurve@EZkreb5412@fatfabfeminist Nah my only point in responding was that Trump is more infamous than he is famous, he’s probably the most known New Yorker rn
@headofcurve@EZkreb5412@fatfabfeminist In terms of both being well liked and well known and renowned, before being president he was obviously known but primarily for being a reality show host and as a real estate businessman. Not exactly Scorsese’s level at that point, and currently probably more known but not liked
@headofcurve@EZkreb5412@fatfabfeminist I feel like popularity requires a generally positive consensus and Trump doesn’t have that. Not to mention this guy is making arbitrary benchmarks of popularity from 10 years ago when he wasn’t yet president and definitively less popular than all of the New Yorkers I listed
@EZkreb5412@fatfabfeminist I don’t even know that that’s true but we are living in the now in any case. And if we are going off of people’s fame from 10 years ago then there is no debate that Scorsese is more popular than Trump, he’s probably the most famous director alive
@EZkreb5412@fatfabfeminist I could name Martin Scorsese, teddy roosevelt, Michael Jordan, babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, or Frank Sinatra but Trump is probably more well known as the current president. But he’s not that well liked so famous isn’t really the right word
@OKCobstinacy What’s lost is that the Knicks also have dictated the winner and loser of all the games. They’re playing each other, they both dictate it
@ChuckyyLarms@nbaunitracker@Timberwolves Lived in MN for many years and have heard plenty of people call them the twolves. Not sure why a part of the fan base is so hung up on this
@nhlanhlaluju@ADayJr2@4PFiShaq I’m not saying that she’s clear cut, but she should be the favorite as of right now. This how MVP talks always are. Last year Isaiah Hartenstein was like 2nd in mvp rankings a few weeks into the season
@nhlanhlaluju@ADayJr2@4PFiShaq I never said they weren’t, but right now the lynx are better and Olivia miles is currently their best player, so it’s not crazy to have the best player on the best team be in MVP talks
@ADayJr2@4PFiShaq Your making up scenarios that just wouldn’t happen. If there’s a player on a team averaging 40/15/12 or any statline like that, the team is gonna be good. They just will be. And I’m not saying I agree with the principle under all circumstances, but that’s just how the voters act
@ADayJr2@4PFiShaq A major factor of the mvp vote is how good the players team is. You wouldn’t give mvp to someone on the wizards bc whatever they’re doing isn’t translating to winning basketball
