I’ve had issues 2 years in a row with hoggets but they’d been on it for long periods and dry seasons increase concentrations of phytoestrogens so that hasn’t helped. I’d say you will be fine.

@BenDooley8 Most ryegrasses bolt about end of October (+/- a few days) so I’d be surprised if the seed head wasn’t a couple inches above the ground by now.

@BenDooley8 length has nothing to do with it. It’s all about quality - dictated by when the plant starts to stem elongate (send it’s seed head up) If you can mow it just as it’s about to start to bolt then you’ll get top quality baleage. split a lead tiller and see where the seed head is

Well bugger me, we always wondered what would happen if Facebook and Instagram had to use Rural Internet.
