The Tropical Atlantic has never been this hot before in May.

A severe marine heatwave has developed across much of the Tropical Atlantic and Caribbean, with water temperatures up to 5-7°F above normal in some areas.

Water temperatures in the Caribbean have already exceeded peak hurricane season levels (mid-September). This will have significant implications for marine life and hurricane season.

Driving the logging truck between East of Homer and Anchor Point and when he and his crewman saw a tree perfect for the project, asking landowner permission to cut. All were happy to say yes.

@ANC_Historian @AK_Rita_J @VisitAnchorage Kwik-Log cabins became very popular. Alaska gov Frank Heintzleman came to visit. My dad was contracted to build airport terminals in Homer and Cordova, the roundhouse at Alyeska, and shipped pre-cut cabin kits all over Alaska, providing jobs for many wood-talented men.

@ANC_Historian KENI radio used to broadcast upstairs above 4th ave theatre and TV was in the basement. I visited Ruth Briggs in that upstairs studio mid 50s and was guest on tv downstairs in 60s so maybe they moved to the bldg in pic sometime later

The cabin was a project of the Anchorage Jaycees, who first had ordered a little Kwik-Log cabin that was erected for temporary display on Anch City Hall lawn and raffled to raise $ for tourist center.

Many additional men were employed by the company and participated in the logging and building of the tourist center.

How incredible is this?

“The famous Italian diver Enzo Maiorca dove into the sea of ​​Syracuse and was talking to his daughter Rossana who was aboard the boat. Ready to go in, he felt something slightly hit his back.

The released dolphin was helped to the surface by Enzo, Rosana and the other dolphin. That’s when the surprise came: she was pregnant!

The male circled them, and then stopped in front of Enzo, touched his cheek (like a kiss), in a gesture of gratitude and then they both swam off.

Enzo Maiorca ended his speech by saying: “Until man learns to respect and speak to the animal world, he can never know his true role on Earth.”
