@KelseyTuoc Yeah *feels* like there hasn’t been a whole lot of “here’s what a good education looks like” discourse for a while, most stuff just rehashing old arguments circa NCLB/charter schools/thiel fellows/etc.
@KelseyTuoc (To our values, that is. Thanks twitter for the short reply lengths for us freeloaders.) Lots of good stuff here for us to chew on - and the only critique of alpha school I’ve read that felt practical instead of being ideological (“AI bad, end of story.”) Appreciate it.
@KelseyTuoc Great framework. My spouse and I have struggled with how to educate our children after their play/nature based coop preschool (oldest is heading to first grade, public school because its NoVA and the private schools are ridiculously expensive and are at best only a partial match)
@girdley Yeah, and not just for restaurants either. My church has really strong social bonds, big piece of that is - fellowship hour has good food and can replace lunch maybe 40% of the time. People stick around, eat good food, get to know each other better, flywheel etc.
@bhalligan@DrivinLuke Because truth is inherently kind. You speak it with the person’s best interests at heart. Perpetuating a situation that’s not working is not doing them a kindness.
@KelseyTuoc@G31020330 I will never understand why people use twitter to vent their weirdly personal hatreds, publicly.
Wishing ill on others has never made my life better. Has it ever improved anyone’s?
