This is real and the city even filed a lawsuit

A filed by the City of El Cajon, California in San Diego County against California Attorney General Rob Bonta and the state’s sanctuary law

I found all the details

El Cajon officials received a federal tip from DHS and ICE about 52 undocumented children in the city suspected of being victims of sex trafficking

Police wanted to conduct wellness checks

City leaders asked the California Attorney General’s office for guidance due to concerns over SB 54 which is California’s Sanctuary Law

The state responded that performing these checks in coordination with federal authorities would violate SB 54

The lawsuit was filed in the San Diego Superior Court by El Cajon Mayor Bill Wells with support from the America First Policy Institute
