🇬🇭🇺🇸 Akpene Tetteh, a 37‑year‑old Ghanaian doctoral student at Virginia Commonwealth University, was fatally shot in broad daylight in early February.

Police arrested a teenager at the scene, and the case is now headed to Superior Court as investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death continue.

Day 1 at DSA-U highlights:
Denis Wanyama, our MSc Data Science student @UCUniversity who also works for @UNGlobalPulseUG delivered an enlightening talk on Data Visualization and Storytelling to the participants. Gerison Otim, our Computer Science alumni @ucu_ComputEng examined data visualizations, elucidating how scatter plots can highlight the connections between variables in a dataset.

With Ssengendo Michael, we examined the concept of computer vision and its potential applications in diverse areas such as agriculture, healthcare, environmental management, and tourism.

We are grateful to God that at @UCUniversity @ucu_ComputEng, we are making a positive impact in educating the future Data Scientists for Uganda with our MSc Data Science and Analytics, and BSc in Data Science and Analytics programs.
