@mattlindn@davill plans change. I'm guessing on deeper inspection they found more significant structural issues that necessitated this approach for safety and/or efficiency. It's pretty much immaterial as long as they can safely return to flight.
@LindaGreyHill@blueorigin Would love for you to explain how LC-36, a 306 acre site is ‘little’. It’s also a launch complex not a space port (hint is in the LC)
@McGunbus@RealestMercury I think it might be 1 step further as a failure in the main tanks -or- the tanks failing as a result of a COPV failure. Either way you can hear a pop and see the trails of what Im guessing are (rapidly departing) COPV's in the videos circulating.
@dkliberty4all@JayJurden this is the dumbest hot take i've read all day. if you dont want your kids growing up in an insane, hateful world stop voting for a divisive president.
@RichinVan @Ellieinspace Even in ‘expendable mode’ falcon 9 likely doesn’t have enough delta V to get a fully loaded Orion for a lunar mission to LEO. Even with updated mating adapters aerodynamics of Orion on falcon 9 would also be a huge issue to overcome.
