The GEMMERS made prosthetic legs out of just a few materials provided. After testing their designs, we then made slingshot rockets and learned about Franklin Chang-Diaz, the first Hispanic-American astronaut @WSSUTeachEd @DrAntGraham @NASA @LCSJackets @joannlaguardia

You may have noticed the GEMMERS came home with a little robot like this one yesterday. While they did learn how to create a circuit using conductive tape, did they tell you they first connected the light to a Raspberry Pi and did python coding to make it blink? @WSSUTeachEd

We collected some data and had some fun in the creek! We tested a new part of Salem creek at @GatewayNature preserve. Maybe took another album cover picture 😂 @WSSURAMS @WSSUTeachEd @DrAntGraham

GEMS ladies are spending time being citizen scientists. We are comparing data about storm drains from three different areas of Winston Salem. We are also sharing our results with environmental scientists using the @DebrisTracker @WSSURAMS @WSSUTeachEd @DrAntGraham
