Een maand geleden presenteerde de Vlaamse regering "een historisch akkoord". Live persconferentie. Amper vragen over begroting. "Het tekort stijgt met 320 miljoen euro" zei minister van begroting Ben Weyts toen.

Wat blijkt nu we de begrotingsdocumenten kregen? Het tekort stijgt met ... 750 miljoen euro.

Dubbel zoveel als de minister amper een maand geleden beweerde.

Het tekort zal dit jaar 3,6 miljard euro zijn. Dan moet je weten dat Vlaanderen er de voorbije tien jaar miljarden extra bij kreeg door de financieringswet. Het heeft daar sinds 2020 enkel maar tekorten mee opgestapeld.

De schuld stijgt sinds 2025 weer met maar liefst 6 miljard euro. Het lijkt tegenwoordig kleingeld. De Vlaamse rente-kosten bedragen nu al 1,3 miljard euro. Enkele jaren geleden was dat nog maar een half miljard euro.

Intussen weigert Ben Weyts nog steeds om het subsideregister voor 2025 publiek te maken. We weten allemaal waarom.

A toxic cloud has spread across an entire region.

Following a massive explosion at Russia's largest oil refinery, several strategic pipelines reportedly ruptured. Among them were lines carrying concentrated sulfuric acid and other highly toxic substances. Large quantities of hazardous chemicals were released across the facility and beyond its perimeter.

A dense toxic cloud is now hanging over the area. Air quality has reportedly become dangerous, local residents are alarmed, and emergency services are struggling to cope with the scale of the incident.

The full extent of the environmental and health impact remains unclear.
