At the 34th International Red Cross & Red Crescent Conference, CIVIC’s ED @CIVICHichem highlighted critical risks to civilians in conflict zones, stressing State responsibilities for their protection.

He urged warring parties to avoid using explosive weapons in populated areas and called on States to halt weapon transfers that could harm civilians.

He also emphasized the growing harm caused by disinformation and misinformation to civilian populations in armed conflict and the need to tackle it.
