The way we should look at it is they expressed Orthodoxy in a different manner against the western churches to vindicate Orthodoxy. @Cri1823759Cris He’s right to a degree but horribly said. But to be fair to the Russian period I think in essence they were not completely wrong but rightfully expressed the faith for that specific time period. I wouldn’t dare to say a lot or even most was against the patristics.
