@GRDecter I think this is way too little - keeps faith in public institutions, and is probably on the higher end of govt-related salaries, but the guy basically runs the economy
"How can anyone become a thinker if he does not spend at least a third of the day without passions, people and books" - Nietzsche
We are overwhelmed with 24/7 stimulus - phones, laptops, people. Distractions!
Time w/out distractions unlocks creativity and divergent thinking
💸Stock buybacks cop a lot of flak as a cash grab for investors and corporate executives - recent MIT study demonstrates the opposite
C-suite comp. roughly unchanged post-buybacks, and buybacks as a % of total market value has decreased over the decades

@resistancemoney@twobitidiot what? It shows that his point is even more valid - if you had it on a scale going to 100, you wouldn't be able to see the difference at all
Building a writing habit is a transformative step towards building and sharing knowledge
I've found that writing has helped me think more deeply about content I'm consuming, form stronger evidence-based viewpoints on key issues, and build a personal brand
Here's some advice⬇️
We consume content so quickly that it’s difficult to absorb anything meaningful
Content that would traditionally be described as ‘repetitive’ is very useful - it cements the creator’s core message by repeating it in various contexts and ideas
Embrace repetitive content!
@cardano_whale Agree - currently using Twitter as more of a personal database rather than any expectation of building a following haha - hard to do with zero engagement or distribution
@apolynya I'm finding that the path to long-term sustainability often leads to a question of whether a tokenised approach is even necessary in the first place - since fiat revenue streams currently enable a much higher TAM
@thepatwalls Alcohol quitting is definitely occurring, but I think this change is dominated in the 35+ age category. Unsure if I'm seeing the same trends from 18-35 year olds, myself included. Reduction maybe, but not quite quitting yet due to social dynamics / memesis etc.
This is not to say that VCs add zero value - I’m simply curious about the percentage breakdown of returns between a) private access and b) actual value generation
Would be curious to know how much a given VC’s investment returns are simply due to exclusive access to private deals
If private investing was more democratised, would VC returns be competed away?
Gut feel is yes - in public markets, hedge funds outperforming less and less
@friedberg As the government continues and continues to raise the debt ceiling, it's unclear what will be the straw that breaks the camel's back. Markets seem relatively unphased by the continued debt ceiling raises :/
@gregisenberg Would most likely buy the US business rather than the entire entity outright. Makes sense given Amazon’s ability to store US user data on shore - alleviating regulator concerns
