@Mangan150 I lift to support my bad joints, and I use slower movement and lower weight to protect my joints while lifting. Muscle is a great shock absorber; everything else in the body is not.
@Mangan150 A huge intake in red meat increased my ferritin 200 points to the 300's. Six blood donations in one year got it down to 80, and now I'm maintaining by donating twice a year.
@SDCRWW@Mangan150 The reason why I'm 50 pounds lighter and in the best shape of my life is due to not being robust enough to endure my own self-abuse. I poisoned myself with the wrong food until I was literally too sick to continue doing so. I have little hope for the rest of the US population.
@jamei567@nicknorwitz@bryan_johnson I've been using one or both of two systemic enzyme blends for 20+ years, Zymessence and Blockbuster AllClear. They cleared up peripheral circulation issues in my arms while sleeping on my back, and I've taken them ever since. At age 60 my CAC score was zero.
@SamaHoole My concern with red meat is iron overload. Although a diet of mostly beef, eggs, and dairy improved or fixed every one of my health issues, it drove my ferritin levels 200 points higher. Fortunately, there's an easy fix for that: blood donation. Cherry on top: I have rare blood.
@SBakerMD 80% of chronic illness is caused or exacerbated by poor diet and lifestyle, and modern medicine is notoriously poor at treating chronic conditions, so it makes sense.
@ErikPWingren@robbwolf The allergist/pulmonologist I was seeing for food issues tested my Vit D level, which came back at 43 ng/mL. He was emphatic about getting it higher. I used at home test kits to dial in my daily dose of 10,000 IU, which keeps my level at 80ng/mL. I take Vit K2 and Mg as well.
@maxlugavere After my wife died in 2016, Lightning Crashes was one of a handful of songs that would make me bawl my eyes out. It still does. Even this AI version.
@ElieJarrougeMD A diet of mostly beef, eggs, and dairy completely restored my health, but it also drove my ferritin levels from the 100s to the 300s. To compensate, I started giving blood, and after giving 6 pints last year, I got my level to 80. Going forward, I'll give once or twice a year.
