Hundreds of security personnel belonging to the junta regime, including both soldiers and police officers, have been arrested alive by the People Defence Forces (PDF) in Pauk township, located in the Magway division of Myanmar.
The mass arrest transpired last week as a consequence of a strategic ambush executed by the local PDFs against the operations of the junta forces, which were concurrently facing aerial assaults from the junta regime.
After losing the intense battles, the junta forces were forced to raise a white flag, indicating their surrender to the People Defence Forces.

Apparently, some #Americans are running their own #SharkTank show in Myanmar by advocating to Washington for "engaging" with the junta in return for rare earth which are mined in non-junta areas. Peak grift. @ForeignPolicy.

ULA/AA Condemns HRW Report on Htan Chauk Kyan (Hoyyar Siri) Incident
Narinjara, May 20, 2026
The United League of Arakan / Arakan Army (ULA/AA) has strongly condemned a report released by Human Rights Watch (HRW) on May 18 concerning the incident in Htan Chauk Kyan Village.
Speaking to Narinjara, AA spokesperson U Khaing Thukha rejected the allegations contained in the report, calling them baseless and fabricated.
“We strongly object to and condemn the recently released HRW report. It is an unfounded report filled with fabricated accusations,” he said.
He alleged that the report was intentionally aimed at fueling ethnic and religious tensions and provoking conflict in Arakan.
“Due to the efforts of the Arakan revolutionary administration, ethnic and religious harmony in Arakan has improved. However, some individuals and organizations who dislike this progress are deliberately attempting to spread hatred and create conflict,” he said.
According to U Khaing Thukha, such accusations could damage trust between communities and disrupt efforts to build mutual respect and peaceful coexistence among different ethnic and religious groups.
“This could create mistrust toward peacefully living Muslim communities and seriously undermine the friendship, mutual respect, and recognition that ULA/AA is trying to establish among different communities,” he said.
He also denied claims that villagers from Htan Chauk Kyan were killed during the conflict, saying ULA/AA had repeatedly provided evidence and explanations to journalists regarding the incident.
“We have repeatedly explained with strong evidence that no such incident ever occurred,” he said.
U Khaing Thukha added that detailed household and population records for the village had been documented, including information on residents who relocated to other villages or left the country.
He further claimed that some groups were attempting to damage ULA/AA’s international image through false accusations.
“The skeletons shown in the report are actually the remains of junta soldiers killed in battle. Some still had military uniforms, combat boots, and helmets. Certain activists abroad staged misleading photos by placing Muslim women’s clothing on the remains in order to falsely accuse ULA/AA internationally,” he alleged.
He concluded by urging communities to oppose what he described as fabricated reports that could threaten peaceful coexistence.
Meanwhile, HRW stated in its report that approximately 170 villagers from Buthidaung Township’s Htan Chauk Kyan Village were allegedly killed by the AA. HRW described the incident as a mass killing that could amount to a war crime.
The report, titled “Skeletons and Skulls Scattered Everywhere,” said its findings were based on interviews with 41 witnesses, satellite imagery, social media videos, and expert analysis.
HRW also noted in the report that ULA/AA denied the allegations.
@World_Affairs11@DerekTonkinUK This is fake news from a dubious account. Army Chief of Staff, Gen. Randy George, sent an outgoing email saying U.S. soldiers deserve “courageous leaders of character.” He didn't say that “a madman will lead the great U.S. military to ruin.”
This is what happened on Mother’s Day in Myanmar.

As the junta regime faces increasing defeats in Hpakant, it resorts to air strikes in the Lungkhin ward of Hpakant town. The airstrike over the town has led to the widespread destruction of homes and local businesses in Hpakant tow of Kachin State, Myanmar, causing severe suffering among innocent civilians.
The junta regime's strategy always involves targeting civilians when it is unable to contend with the ethnic armed groups and the People Defense Forces.
