The Nazis jailed communists and social democrats, banned the SPD and KPD, smashed independent trade unions, murdered political opponents and built their entire movement around ultranationalism, racial hierarchy and rabid anti-Marxism.

Even the genuinely anti-capitalist elements inside the Nazi movement were sidelined or purged once Hitler consolidated power.

And “statism = left” is kindergarten-level political analysis. Mussolini was statist. Franco was statist. Fascism is statist. That doesn’t magically make fascists socialists.

By this logic North Korea is democratic because it says “Democratic” in the name.
