@jennycohn1 Unfortunately it still allows officials use mail ballot process even if the voter is present. San Diego voters who voted at election HQ all marked paper using BMD and then signed envelopes as if mailing. Voter marked paper doesn't mean guaranteed to count.
@marceelias We must protect the public's right to learn from the evidence that the voters are eligible and the votes are counted correctly. Identifiable voters and anonymous ballots. Evidence based elections have been quietly under attack while elections are centralized.
@AmberMcReynolds Evaluations of both audits & "audits" must use the same pre-prepared & generally agreed upon published evidence-based criteria and fervor. Stories claiming official audits are good & "audits" in quotes are bad are both propaganda serving confirmation bias. Science please!
@AmberMcReynolds Unattended dropboxes are a low cost low integrity substitute for a polling place- a minimal integrity, reduced accountability mail receptacle compared to USPS boxes. Voters cast naked uncountable ballots in election dropboxes. Lets do better.

@AmberMcReynolds RCV-IRV adds potential errors: additional overvotes; voters eliminated before calculating a "majority"; requires centralized data + software.
An alternative Approval Voting is simpler than legacy limited choice (aka plurality)- never overvotes, easily hand counted in precincts.
Superimposed images of Windham NH ballots (worst scans removed). Note horizontal folds intersecting one Dem target on front page as well as a vertical anomaly through all R targets on the back. These anomalies cause errors ( not from hacking)
@WAuditors
@MarilynRMarks1 The NH forensic audit is especially transparent. Philip Stark just mentioned he has UV light, micrometer and digital microscope for studying paper in phase 4. Talliers asked to flag anything unusual on paper during hand tally

Everyone knows what is going on at all times, and all questions are answered with patience.
@HarriHursti and @philipbstark in charge!
GA voters (and press & non-profits) attending the Nov. hand "audit," and machine recount. Watch what a REAL audit looks like in NH, with experts managing, insisting on transparency.
Contrast NH with GA's post-election counts with NO transparency or accountability. Link 👇1/
@mattblaze How many states have logs of multiple ballot return? Does it become public? In CO the registration database keeps a record of only one return regardless of how many follow. I haven't seen any alarm bells going off. Until someone calls in asking for what is already a voted ballot
@mattblaze@jikamens Detection is easier than remedy but detection is not easy and is often only by luck and nothing systematic. The system creates a risk of eligibility error when a voter residence address changes after the mail ballot is printed.
@AmberMcReynolds appointed to the USPS Board of Governors! Wonderful. No one is better prepared to inoculate the USPS from pre-traumatic fears associated with election mail. Amber knows what the USPS needs to do: track the casting and delivery of mailed ballots. Congratulations!
A glimpse of 4,8,12 years of American empire defined by identity political cabinet choices. I prefer permission to vote for more than one viable progressive pres. candidate using approval voting or next best -ranked choice.
Biden putting women in charge of US imperialism is NOT feminism. It’s just putting a female face on the same cruel and destructive policies that impoverish and kill people around the world.

@eddieperezTX GA SOS said "RLA".An ideal risk limiting tabulation audit of a very close contest is a compliance audit to check eligibility + chain of custody + a full hand recount. A compliance audit could be called a recanvass. The RL(T)A is most effective for hand marked absentee ballots.
@tribelaw -online isnt verifiable. mail/drop ballot return is better, still swaps integrity & inherent sunshine of citizen run polls for secured govt. back rooms - fewest observers & least public accountability #EvidenceBasedElections = observing every step. @MarilynRMarks1
Journalists coming to Las Vegas for the first time to cover Hacker Summer Camp next week would do well to read this piece from last year, which I just discovered. https://t.co/0xwDBJAHB1
Let me be clear: it is a disturbing attack on the First Amendment for the Trump administration to decide who is or is not a reporter for the purposes of a criminal prosecution. Donald Trump must obey the Constitution, which protects the publication of news about our government.
