I’m officially documenting my cybersecurity journey. 🧑🏽💻🔐
So far, I’ve been learning networking, Linux, security tools, and doing hands-on labs with Cisco Packet Tracer and Kali Linux.
I’ve made mistakes, gotten stuck, figured things out and learned a lot along the way.
Reducing administrative accounts and privileges can help prevent a massive compromise.
if an attacker compromises an account with admin priviledges, its game over.
What is the primary factor that determines the likelihood of succes of dictionary password cracking?
A. age of password
B. length of password
C. Size of dictionary file
D. Complexity of password
E. account lockout
Day 22 of documenting my cybersecurity journey 🔐
Today I learnt something every attacker already knows:
A weak password is an open door. Today I performed Password spraying, dictionary, and Brute-Force Attacks
And finally implemented a more restrictive password policy.
Day 21 of documenting my cybersecurity journey
Having spent alot of time on my windows and kali linux, I decided to cook something in my cisco packet tracer lab to remember few things.
Just a little project of three buildings and tested for connectivity.

6 months into my cybersecurity journey. 🔐
I’ve documented a lot of growth, from learning networking to building my cybersecurity foundation and now focusing on SOC analysis.
Still pushing, learning and not where I want to be yet🚀
A lot of UNILAG students get into companies like Google, Microsoft, JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs and the likes while they’re still in school.
They apply for internships and ITS, but the interesting part is that many of them already have access to information about these opportunities.
They know people who have done it before. They know when applications open, what the process looks like, what to prepare for and what worked for someone before them.
So they follow the same pattern.
Sometimes the difference isn’t that one person is more talented.
It’s access to information.
Once you have exclusive information about opportunities and a roadmap from someone who has already done it, the process becomes much easier to navigate.
Finally picked a path in cybersecurity. 🔐
After completing my Networking/ Cybersecurity internship. I’m now focusing on becoming a SOC Analyst.
I’ve joined the @offshield_ai cohort to get more hands-on experience.
Training starts today. I would be sharing the journey here🚀
Been inactive for a couple of days because of my last paper, but I’m finally done.
Now I’m back. Time to get active 😄.
The #EthicalHacking journey continues. 🧑🏾💻🔐
Lessons learned today 🔐
Password spraying vs. brute force:
Password spraying tries a known password across multiple accounts when the target account is unknown.
Brute force works differently it tries many possible password combinations until one works.
