Delilah has been very shy since coming into our kennels and is finding the loudness of kennel life a bit overwhelming. She can walk nicely on the lead and is enjoying her walks sniffing all the wildlife. She will need lots of slow socialising with other dogs and will currently be best suited to being the only pet in the home. Delilah is still finding her feet here at last chance but is very affectionate. She will walk into you with her head and stand there waiting for a cuddle.

If being affectionate was an Olympic sport then George would be taking home the gold medal! He is a 4yr old ex racing Greyhound who is extremely friendly and excellent when walking on lead.
Because of his background we would be looking for a cat free home. During his racing days he had an injury which resulted in a fractured foot, however this has healed completely and doesn’t cause any issues other than him having a limp. George can currently be seen on our viewing kennels at Bleakholt. If you think you could welcome this wonderful boy into your life then please apply online.

Introducing BLUE! Finally after 7 months at our centre due to being a cruelty case, our gorgeous boy is now available for homing. Since being with us Blue has learnt how to "sit" and has also learned loose-lead walking. He is a very clever boy who would love to continue training with a new family.
Blue loves being off lead in our paddock playing with his favourite toys and having lots of cuddles off his carers here at the centre. He walks well with many of his canine companions here at the centre, however, we feel he would benefit from being the only pet in the home. Blue would require multiple meets with a loving, caring and understanding, adult only household. Our handsome, baby boy is much loved by all members of staff at the centre as we have watched him grow and learn about the world. Zareba and Bitner pleaded guilty to animal welfare offences in relation to the death from sepsis of the called Ira (pictured).
Sentencing | 20-year ban from keeping animals.
The RSPCA launched an investigation in January 2024 after being contacted by a vet, who had been presented with a dead dog by Zareba and Bitner.
The couple told the vet that Ira had gone into labour on Friday evening and had given birth to three puppies, but only two survived.
They claimed Ira’s labour then stopped. But a post mortem revealed she had not passed all of her puppies, and died of sepsis as a result of internal bleeding.
Zareba and Bitner claimed Ira was fine until the Monday evening, when she suddenly appeared unwell, but failed to seek vet care. Ira died on Tuesday morning.
RSPCA Inspector Patrick Bailey, who investigated the case, said: “It is so upsetting to think about how she must have been feeling, emotionally and physically, as she endured such a prolonged, painful labour whilst she struggled to try and give birth, only to become fatally injured internally through her efforts.”
“[It] is another sad example where money and profit appears to have been put before welfare and in doing so cost Ira her life,
“The couple’s decision not to seek veterinary treatment at any stage, even at the point when they felt Ira had developed an infection and did appear to be unwell, is completely unacceptable,”
The puppies were later found to be advertised for £1,000 each, which Mr Bailey said “speaks volumes about the incentive for ensuring their survival”.

Why have we not seen the large charities on tv asking the government for a halt to breeding? If we emptied all the rescue shelters, while we have such prolific licensed and unlicensed breeding, they would be full again in weeks?
The dog shown below was abandoned in #Cork #Ireland this week, but I am seeing the same in the UK.
Surely we need to halt breeding and do more to ensure animals are not being hurt and used for profit?
