Today, to finish our science topic, the children had the opportunity to show off their inner Alan Titchmarsh and plant some trees. They did a great job and we are looking forward to them all growing in the near future. #handsonlearning
Itβs been amazing to draw along with Rob Biddulph today! The children showed excitement and creativity. Well done everyone and thank you @Literacy_Trust@RobBiddulph
Over the last few weeks, Year 3 have been creating their own pneumatic monster toy. We used a balloon and a tube to get to open their mouths. What a creative year group. #dt#creativity
Rock detectives! Year 3 children carried out a comparative and fair test to determine properties of different rocks. We recorded our observations after testing hardness, acidity and permeability. Well done petrologists!
Work the angles: this week the children have been learning about angles and explored how many different right angles we can make just using 2 straws. Well done!
This week, the children had great fun learning about how rocks are made. We used starburst to represent the different types of rocks. Well done everyone.
This week, our masterpiece was finally created where we finally finished our African style masks. The children based their designs from their art books. Well done :)
This week the children were learning about magnets and how we can use the Earth's magnetic field to help point us in the right direction. We created our very own compass!
Roll up. Roll up. Come and see all the items you can buy at Year 3's market stall. Well done to all the children in calculating change and buying some items.
This week, the children created balloon rockets. Luckily it wasn't 'rocket science' but learning about how the heavier a straw was, the more air it needed to move! Well done everyone and have a great weekend!
The force is strong with us in Year 3. The children have been learning about how when we apply a force to an object, an object will move. We learnt that an unbalanced force (push or pull) makes an object move. Enjoy your weekend and may the force be with you all!
This week the children were learning about their new geography topic of Kenya. We used atlases to locate what continent Kenya was on as well as naming different cities in Kenya.
This week, the children were learning how our body moves. We learnt about how the tendons and ligaments are connected to the bones and muscles. We created our very own model of a hand with ligaments and bones.
In Science, the children took part in a 'lung busting' investigation where they learnt about how exercises affects how hard our lungs and heart works. #teaching#science
