Mr. Musk, yes, no billionaire should dictate a nation’s policy - Indian or American.

India must welcome competition in satellite internet, from Indian and global providers, whoever offers the most practical and affordable last-mile solution for those in remote regions. In countries with lower per-capita incomes, satellite internet must be affordable too. High subscription fees and equipment costs risk putting it beyond the reach of ordinary households. Connectivity must bridge the digital divide, not create a new one.

India knows our networks and spectrum are strategic infrastructure, not merely commercial assets. India’s national security safeguards are non-negotiable.

Every country makes choices based on its own interests. Those in the West cannot preach free markets while practicing protectionism at home. USA imposed 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs to protect its domestic industry, just as India takes measures to protect its own domestic manufacturers. Both India and the US have restricted Huawei over security concerns. One cannot demand a level playing field from others only when it suits its own agenda.

Indians will internally debate, question and address our strengths and shortcomings as a democratic country.

Take BharatNet, India’s programme to bring broadband to village-level local bodies. We will question why, as the CAG’s 2026 audit report found, the programme is struggling to meet its original objectives. Why were only 33.2% of service-ready Gram Panchayats operational, despite ₹39,888 crore being spent? At the same time, we know to appreciate our telecom sector and regulations, which has made internet data among the world’s most affordable, bringing millions online.

India is a democracy, not a colony. We welcome the world, but we, the Indian people, will decide our own future - not Western vested interests, their double standards or any billionaire - Indian or American.

Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF) protested against the proposed FCRA Amendment Bill in Kohima.

Well, the FCRA Amendment Bill has already been referred to a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for detailed scrutiny.

The proposed 31-member committee will comprise 21 members from the Lok Sabha and 10 from the Rajya Sabha. It is expected to submit its report by the last day of the first week of the Winter Session 2026.

If an organisation or NGO believes that the foreign funding it receives is being used legally and only for legitimate purposes, why resist a law meant to regulate such funding? Why oppose transparency and accountability?

Efforts are underway to rapidly build the infrastructure required for large-scale AI data centres across India.

These are not merely statistics. They reflect serious realities concerning public health.

The Central and State Pollution Control Boards, as well as the Central and State Environment Departments, must take this situation seriously. Anyone advocating for the rapid expansion of data centres in the country must also pause and reflect on these environmental realities.

This is not merely a question of development. It is a question of public health and the survival of all living beings.

Before expanding large-scale data centres that require enormous amounts of electricity, water, land, cooling, backup power and other infrastructure, we must first strengthen our environmental systems to protect public health and the well-being of all living beings.

Investment and technological development are certainly necessary.

But clean air, safe water and a healthy environment are even more fundamental.

India should emerge as an AI powerhouse but not at the cost of nature and public health.
#DevelopmentWithEnvironmentalProtection is the only path that can truly safeguard the future of any nation.

Let us not blindly compare ourselves with China. India and China have very different democratic systems and values, particularly when it comes to public participation and democratic accountability.

కంబాలకొండ ఎకో-సెన్సిటివ్ జోన్, ముడసర్లోవ, గంభీరం గెడ్డ పరివాహక ప్రాంతాలు కేవలం ఖాళీ భూములు కావు. అవి నీటి వనరులు, జీవవైవిధ్యం, సహజ పర్యావరణం, విశాఖ భవిష్యత్ పర్యావరణ భద్రతతో ముడిపడి ఉన్నాయి.

అదేవిధంగా కృష్ణా నది పరివాహక ప్రాంతంలో ఫ్లడ్ ప్లైన్స్ (జరీబు భూములు) ఆక్రమణలు, సహజ నీటి ప్రవాహాలకు ఆటంకాలు ఉంటే వాటినీ ప్రశ్నించాలి.

ప్రకృతిని ధ్వంసం చేసి సాధించే అభివృద్ధి తాత్కాలిక లాభాలను ఇవ్వవచ్చు. కానీ దీర్ఘకాలంలో వరదలు, నీటి కొరత, కాలుష్యం, జీవవైవిధ్య నష్టం, ప్రజారోగ్య సమస్యలు తెచ్చే ప్రమాదం ఉంది.

ప్రకృతిని తల్లిగా, నదులు, పర్వతాలు, వృక్షాలు, పంచభూతాలను పూజించే సంస్కృతి గల మన దేశం పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణలో ఎందుకు వెనుకబడుతోంది? ఈ ప్రశ్నపై చర్చించాలి.

భారత రాజ్యాంగం, సుప్రీంకోర్టు తీర్పులు జీవించే హక్కును ఆరోగ్యకరమైన పర్యావరణం, స్వచ్ఛమైన గాలి, నీటితో అనుసంధానించాయి. పర్యావరణ పరిరక్షణ రాష్ట్రానికే కాదు, ప్రతి పౌరుడి బాధ్యత కూడా.

అందువల్ల భావితరాల కోసం ప్రకృతిని, ప్రజల ఆరోగ్యాన్ని, రైతుల భూములను, మత్స్యకారుల జీవనోపాధులను, చట్టాలను కాపాడాలని కోరేవారిని “ప్రగతి నిరోధకులు” అని ముద్ర వేయడం తప్పు.

సమాధానం దూషణలతో కాదు వాస్తవాలతో.
విమర్శలకు సమాధానం పత్రాలతో.
ప్రజల ఆందోళనలకు సమాధానం రాజకీయ నినాదాలతో కాదు శాస్త్రీయ ఆధారాలతో ఉండాలి.
