Just finished my talk at #LPSC2024 about the enigmatic detection of Mg- and #Fe-#sulfate monohydrates on #Mars from #CRISM spacecraft analyses. A little teaser: We will continue to explore the spectral band shifts if they are related to Mg/Fe sulfate mixtures or #temperature🚀🛰️
Next is my talk about how #gypsum and #chloride salts effect the modern #Mars#geochemistry? Here it is a teaser: gypsum can dissolve at cold temperatures but depending on the type of #salts. Thanks to my great collaborators @NASAJPL and of course Janice Bishop @SETIInstitute.

Congrats Ann-Cathrin!!🥳💫 Ann-Cathrin successfully completed her Master's degree project, titled "Cryosalt Formation in Martian Analogue Fe-rich Smectites and Applications to Mars" at our group @umeauniversitet . She will continue to work on her Master's degree @UniLeipzig.
Wohooo!!!🥳 Our proposal for characterizing Mars' unique low hydrated Mg- and Fe sulfates is funded by NASA. I'm looking forward to working as a co-I on this project and analyzing all the exciting cryo data with awesome teams @SETIInstitute@NASAAmes@univienna@UmeaUniversity.
