@RobertGreene Look, having had my nose pushed up against shocking death more times than I’d wish on anyone, there’s only this (ignore the twitter gurus). You have a choice: life is ridiculously short. Enjoy what’s happening to you or don’t.
@RobertGreene Another trite observation. Denial is crucial for survival, for us all. If you’re as clever as you purport, you know that already. You have valuable information to impart but X undermines your message. Long form only.
@RobertGreene A curious thing about all kinds of sage advice of this type is, quantitatively speaking, how little real impact it has on people’s lives. I’m sure you know that though. It’s addictive for sure, but is like supplying an axle without the engine. Very frustrating in the long term.
@RobertGreene Yet our existence in life is pretty freaky, and if you’re not at least somewhat freaked out by life then you’re not grasping something essential. A certain freaked-outness and appreciation of this absurdity is a good basis for living.
@RhonddaBryant The Tories are unspeakably awful it’s true. I vote Labour but will Labour really address the existential issue of big polluters lobbying government to pursue their climate-destroying agenda? Keir Starmer’s words don’t offer much hope.
@GeorgeMonbiot It feels like humans were always a doomed prototype due to excessive greed - their fatal flaw. We’ve fucked the planet as we were always fated to do. Another race with less greed might have succeeded where we failed. So sad for my kids.
@jayacunzo The single biggest revelation to me when I first had kids was in your sixth tweet: suddenly, with no prior experience of the phenomenon you are forced to inhabit a world of good/bad extremes - & that’s how life is from then on. Awful and incredible at the same time forevermore.
@jessphillips Worst thing I ever had. Acute phase 3-4 weeks but unluckily suffered for 4 years with chronic relapses (not common). Whatever you do, don’t stop moving around, however uncomfortable - teaches the brain to compensate for the loss of balance = quicker recovery. Best wishes x
