Idiots are taking over the world because opinion became valued as much as knowledge, and people with knowledge didn’t speak up.
People like Jon Ronson and Ben Goldacre didn’t just have an opportunity, they had a responsibility. No, they should not be excused.
A reminder that yesterday, today, tomorrow and always: trans women are women and trans men are men.
Proud to represent a Borough that recognises that protecting women doesn't need to come at the expense of trans people's safety and dignity.
@heinz_kiosk@DanniBrener@jo_bartosch Just to be clear in UK law we define trans as being a protected characteristic.
You are inferring it isn’t. The idea it can be compared with someone who think they don’t have limbs is glib.
For Pride month, my advice to young gay people out there is to think of yourself as a regular person who just happens to be gay. Don't think of yourself as a queer, LGBT, or gay person.
Classic DARVO from Zack the Prat here.
We all saw the post. No mention of the police officer, the attack with a sledgehammer or the impact on her life.
The Greens are soft on violent crime but will look to lock up anyone who thinks differently.
How very totalitarian.
I'd never condone violence against a police officer - this is utterly dishonest.
The jury weren't judging them on a terrorism offence. This is an awful sleight of hand.
The creeping encroachment of terror laws onto protest & removal of our juries should worry all of us.
So jailing someone for attacking a police officer with a sledgehammer is ‘disproportionate and wrong’.
If this is the standard of Labour MP’s, they are absolutely toast come the next GE.
The sentences handed to four young activists for taking direct action at an Israeli arms factory are completely disproportionate and wrong.
They've been sentenced for a "terrorist connection" they were never charged with.
A clear miscarriage of justice and dangerous precedent.
LGBT+ people deserve to be able to live freely and safely.
I don't believe the EHRC's guidance is helping to make that possible.
My statement on why I've signed EDM 240 to stand up for trans people in my constituency and across the UK.
Believe women except the wrong kind of women is the classist message Kathleen Stock and Julie Bindel sent out. Lola and Ruby have far more courage, integrity, and determination than those judging. They deserve applause. And a big fucking apology.
Dress however you please.
Call yourself whatever you like.
Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you.
Live your best life in peace and security.
But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?

@EllieChowns Oh dear. The law is still the law. You need to look at the organisations that told companies their own version of the law *cough* stonewall *cough*.
A rape case was dropped 13 days before trial.
Years later, an independent review found it should have gone ahead.
But by then, it was too late.
Here's why that matters.
A woman reported a rape.
Three and a half years later, she was preparing for trial.
Then the CPS dropped the case.
The reason? A sexsomnia defence.
The case would never be heard by a jury.
Most people thought that was the end.
It wasn't.
She requested a Victim's Right to Review.
An independent Chief Crown Prosecutor reviewed the decision.
The conclusion was extraordinary.
The case should never have been dropped.
In fact, the review found it was more likely than not that a jury would have convicted.
But there was a devastating problem.
The CPS had already offered no evidence in court.
Double jeopardy meant the case could never be reopened.
The decision was found to be wrong.
The outcome could not be changed.
So she sued the CPS.
The CPS apologised.
They paid damages.
They changed policy.
And today, there is a pilot scheme that gives victims an option for a review before rape cases are dropped.
That woman was me.
My case can't be put back before a jury.
But others shouldn't have to hear that a case should have gone to trial only after it's too late to do anything about it.
That's why I'm campaigning for victims to have a review before cases are dropped.
And for the current pilot to become permanent.
Not after.
When it's too late.

This is the third time in the last week I’ve seen a gay man being celebrated for destroying a woman’s life for years.
It’s not the 1940’s, we aren’t in the Middle East. There is no excuse for stealing those years from someone.
