@DaveB1953@RMTunion Not my mum - especially since one of the few benefits she has left of my dad’s years on the railway is “priv” tickets and limited free travel - but she needs to do the reservation at a ticket office. If it was alll online she’d not use a train part from short local trips.
@EvanCull@Harryslaststand@graceblakeley It’s why miners like my great grandad paid for pit top communal showers by subscription, pre-nationalisation,- so they wouldn’t have to take it home
@graceblakeley Also. It was shit, people DID die of pneumonia & having constant chest infections through the winter was horrible & still affects in your 50s. So he’s talking absolute bollocks. How many people in poor (esp rented) housing these days even have an open fire / back boiler. Arse.
@ted_pen Dan’s a bit of a cock isn’t he? Imagine being this angry about tea & toast.. his poor wife, sitting in the dark, cold water & dry bread, flanneling herself down in a couple of tepid inches of water in a bowl after his amorous attentions just to save the leccy.
@paulwelbourne1 He’s mine as well. Cannot understand why people keep voting for him. He’s useless. Brexit has been a shit show locally for agri. He votes for every single toxic policy & never answers constituents’ questions as to why. #GTTO
@clivemaynard@SaulStaniforth@RMTunion The hypocrisy of MPs criticising train drivers’ pay when MPs earn double that, for way fewer days work / year, fully expensed & with subsidised bars so they can get pissed up AT WORK is maddening. #GTTO
@hannahjtw It took me until my mid 30s and changing GPs to finally get a diagnosis of PCOS rather than being fobbed off and told to lose weight (which is ofc harder when you’re in the middle of long term insulin resistance). It’s shit & bugger all research into treatments
@UmmLaura@katebevan Thanks. I did do. Limit is income under £182.60/wk 🙄. Luckily I can help her if she needs it. But looks like a govt mismanaged cull of pensioners is likely. The winter fuel payments will cover bugger all.
@HannahPitcher93 @dianegee7@lordclifton2@ThatsOurLewis A low key argument about an unapproved substitution from the caff and a moan about having to pay for ketchup is exactly the sort of scenario that I can see me & OH ending up in - there were so many painfully accurate observations - esp the unspoken ones.
@KathyBurke Can’t decide whether to go see it. My dad was a massive Elvis fan & died a few months ago. Elvis was played at his funeral & can’t hear the songs yet without sobbing. Sharlene Spiteri caught me out at a gig in Edinburgh recently..
@mrjamesob They’re a breathtakingly toxic cocktail of evil ideology, stupidity, egotism & mendacity. And the rest of us are choking on it & lots of us won’t survive it.
