I was released from Hamas captivity in January and I am a die hard fan of Maccabi Tel Aviv.
I am shocked to my core with this outrageous decision to ban me, my family and my friends from attending an Aston Villa game in the UK.
Football is a way of bringing people together irrespective of their faith, colour or religion and this disgusting decision does the exact opposite. Shame on you.
I hope you come to your senses and reconsider.
I do wonder what exactly has become of British society, this is like putting a big sign on the outside of a stadium saying “No Jews allowed”

For Amnesty, there seem to be no hostages, no October 7, and no ongoing war in which Hamas continues to kill or attempt to kill Israelis- as recently as this week. Amnesty has effectively become a propaganda tool for Hamas, a genocidal and openly antisemitic terror organization.

The War in Lebanon, the strike on Nasrallah and the future. Some thoughts.
*The Hezbollah attack on October 8 wasn't merely a limited by-product of the Hamas invasion the day before. It was a strategic step that brought us to the brink of a regional war. Having only one option—a ceasefire in the south—was never a viable policy. Anyone who wanted to prevent a wider war should have pressured Hezbollah to detach itself from the conflict in the south. All these international calls should have taken place months ago, not when Israel began doing the obvious—striking back.

*The entire region, including the so-called axis of resistance and Iran, was drawn into this situation because of the leader of Hamas, Sinwar. In the end, it was Sinwar who got Nasrallah killed. It's Sinwar who refuses to end the war and go into exile, an option quietly discussed and offered by the Israelis months ago. It's Sinwar who dragged everyone into the pit of bad and worse decisions—leading to the downfall of most of Hezbollah's military capabilities.

*Nasrallah said after the 2006 war that he regretted the killing and kidnapping of the three Israeli soldiers because, had he known it would lead to war, he would never have ordered it. Yet, he was wrong again. He truly believed there was an equation, that he could control the escalation. What he didn't understand was that his "victory"—leading to the evacuation of Israel's north and displacing 80,000 Israelis from their homes—would have to be short-lived. Israel intentionally escalated the conflict, stating it would not stop until its citizens returned to their homes. Nasrallah's bets—on Israel's weakness, on deterrence equations, on the war ending with a deal in the south—have been proven wrong, and now, it seems he's dead.

*Israel made three significant decisions regarding the northern front. The first was on October 11, when the cabinet denied the IDF's request to launch a full-scale preemptive strike against Hezbollah. We now understand why the IDF wanted to attack: it had deeply penetrated Hezbollah intelligence-wise. Israel had been preparing for this war since 2006, and it shows. However, the cabinet wanted to focus on Hamas and feared a full-scale regional war when Israel was not fully prepared. What Israel did in the following months was gradually escalate its military responses to the missiles fired from southern Lebanon, meticulously destroying Hezbollah infrastructure. The second decision was to evacuate villages, kibbutzim, and towns in the north, fearing a Hezbollah raid similar to what Hamas had done in the south. This was one of Israel's biggest mistakes during the war, as it gave Nasrallah the perceived legitimacy to attack ghost towns. It also set a negative precedent in the country's history. However, after witnessing what Hamas had done in the south, what could the government have told the civilians there?

The third decision, in the past few weeks, was to launch a series of attacks against Hezbollah's leadership and not stop, even if it meant Iran might join the war. The most significant attack took place today, targeting not only Nasrallah but the entire command of the organization.

*Now what? There have always been only three options. The first is a ceasefire in the south and a diplomatic process in the north. This is off the table for now because a deal in the south is not progressing. The second option is for Hezbollah to decide to stop firing into Israel. Nasrallah prevented that, and Iran backed him. But now, Iran is reconsidering, and Nasrallah is missing. The third option is an escalation into a full regional war. That's were we are now, and the decision will be made by Iran's supreme leader.

*It is unfortunate that the international community failed to see the writing on the wall. They kept sending the message that their focus was on a ceasefire in Gaza, assuming the north would be resolved along with it. President Macron didn't spend nearly as much time pressuring the Lebanese to make Hezbollah stop as he is now trying to pressure Israel to stop. Israel held back for almost a year, but now, with battlefield achievements and feeling more secure, it is using the Hezbollah lesson to restore regional deterrence. This can always get messy, and Israel might face significant counterattacks. However, the only viable way forward is to return to where we should and could have been: a total implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. No more limited ceasefires, and no more bluffs.

**Background to Israel's Preemptive Strike in Lebanon:**

On October 8, 2023, Hezbollah unilaterally and without provocation attacked Israel, less than 24 hours after the Hamas massacres on its southern border. Hezbollah has continued its attacks on Israel since then, viewing this as an act of solidarity with the "Axis of Resistance" and with Hamas. As a result, the entire northern region of Israel, along the border, has been evacuated, displacing tens of thousands of residents.

Hezbollah has launched thousands of rockets and unmanned drones toward Israel, prompting the IDF to retaliate by attacking Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. Last month, Israel carried out a targeted assassination in Beirut, killing Hezbollah's second-in-command, its Chief of Staff. Hezbollah has vowed revenge.

Israeli security forces have communicated, both to me and others, that Israel will not wait if it knows Hezbollah is planning to strike. Israel will launch a preemptive strike, which is precisely what is happening now. Additionally, Israel has sent a message to Hezbollah, which we have reported on, warning that any attack targeting Israeli civilians will result in a full-scale war by Israel against the state of Lebanon.

At the beginning of the conflict, on October 11, the Israeli cabinet convened to consider an IDF plan for a surprise, wide-ranging preemptive aerial strike against Hezbollah. Although the Defense Minister and most of the IDF supported the plan, the cabinet decided against it. The Israeli defense establishment believed at the time that it had excellent intelligence and the capability to significantly degrade Hezbollah’s abilities in such a surprise attack. However, the plan was not adopted due to concerns that it could distract from Israel's primary objective: dismantling Hamas's military power in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has now begun a second round of aerial assaults in Lebanon against Hezbollah targets. The critical questions now are whether Israel can derail Hezbollah's plan to attack Israel and significantly reduce its ability to retaliate. Hezbollah possesses tens of thousands of missiles, rockets, and unmanned drones. Some of these are extremely accurate, while others carry large payloads.

In Israel, there has been widespread speculation for weeks that Hezbollah would strike. People have been stockpiling food, supplies, and in some cases, purchasing generators in preparation for potential attacks on Israel's electrical and other infrastructure.

Another significant question is whether Iran will intervene. Additionally, what actions will U.S. forces, now significantly increased in the region by orders from the President and the White House, take if Iran intervenes.

A young girl needs protection to take part in Eurovision. This is the situation that the press should take offence at, instead of stepping out of its role to be a political vehicle that turns a blind eye to the origin of the current conflict in the Middle East: a pogrom.
Where young girls, also present at a music festival, could not be protected from the rage of Islamic terrorism. A world where such a pogrom is still possible. Where silence in the face of rape and mutilation as weapons of war is a reality.
Of course we must support the civil Palestinian population. But that does not mean supporting Hamas and its plan to eradicate the Jews. That does not mean turning a blind eye to the fact that Hamas is the enemy number one of all Palestinians. That doesn’t mean forgetting that aid for them is deterred bij Hamas terrorists or that their children are educated to hate with UNRWA books that we pay. Quite the contrary.

For all the innocent people killed, kidnapped or raped at Nova festival, I vote for Eden Golan. For a world where girls can sing and dance without being scared.
