🚨 WE ARE DYING A LITTLE EVERY NIGHT 🚨
This is not hardship. This is a slow, merciless collapse. We don’t wake up anymore, we survive the night by accident. Hunger has eaten our bodies hollow. Cold has crawled into our bones & refuses to leave. We're quiet now, not because the pain eased, but because screaming requires strength we no longer have.
Rain crashes through our destroyed home & turns the ground beneath our children into icy water. Their small bodies shake violently until morning. Their lips crack. Their fingers stiffen. They ask us why the cold hurts so much & we have no answer. Sleep never comes. Fear never leaves. Beside them, our AFS furbabies lie pressed together, ribs sharp under thinning fur, eyes dim with exhaustion. They're starving in silence. We split crumbs with trembling hands. We eat less so they might live another day. We share the cold. We share the hunger. We share the slow dying.
Our home was destroyed. We can't finish repairs. We have no roof strong enough to stop the rain, no walls to hold back winter storms, no income to escape this hell. Aid is stolen by armed gangs, then sold back to us at prices designed to break what little life remains. Winter has arrived not as a season, but as a sentence.
This is not a post.
This is a cry written with shaking hands.
This is what it looks like when people fade while the world scrolls.
We will not abandon the voiceless even if we collapse beside them. But alone, we are already slipping away.

After the passing of his beloved owner, Charlie is spending his golden years in a kennel. He doesn’t ask for much of a future home. All he needs is a soft place to rest and a family willing to open up to an older friend who has so much love left to give.

November is National Adopt a Senior Pet Month and we hope Charlie will get the chance to find his happily ever after. Let’s make his remaining years the happiest ones yet.
